After a  two-year hiatus,  Big K.R.I.T. has finally released his third studio album 4eva Is a Mighty Long Time. The album marks K.R.I.T.’s first independent release under his Multi Alumni label, following a departure from Def Jam in July of 2016. K.R.I.T. released three singles ahead of the album’s release: “Confetti”, “Keep the devil Off”, and “Aux Cord”.

Big K.R.I.T.’s double album is packed with 22 tracks that feature heavyweights like T.I. , UGK, Jill Scott, and much more. Some critics have said K.R.I.T. is at the top of his game with this new project and others feel that K.R.I.T. could have been better when you compare this album to his past work.

Big K.R.I.T.’s album has put the south back on the map with this album. The sound gives you that classic southern hip-hop vibe mixed with hints of blues, r&b, and a whole lot of soul. “It’s a blessing to be able to drop a double album in the space that I’m in and how I’ve grown as an artist able to articulate myself,” the rapper/producer said in an interview with NPR. Track by track, he shared the anxieties and insecurities that fueled his latest blues, as well as the spiritual fortitude that kept him grounded in the gospel.
