Rapper Blueface was arrested for felony gun possession back in February, however he is now claiming that the Los Angeles Police Department targeted him because he is black.

The Thotiana rapper was most recently featured in XXL’s freshman class, where he competed in the cypher along with Rico Nasty and YBN Cordae.

He was in downtown L.A. when police got word that there were rappers carrying large amounts of cash and jewelry, according to TMZ. The police claim they were looking out for the rappers, as there were a lot of robberies in the area at the time, and the rappers could be easy targets. When police arrived, Blueface and his crew reportedly tossed their guns and fled. Blueface and two others were later arrested for felony possession of carrying a loaded firearm, however he was released on a $35,000 bail.

Blueface recently stated that LAPD did not come down out of concern for them, but out of racial prejudice according to new legal documents. The 22-year-old also claims that the cops may have a history of writing false reports.

Lawyers for Blueface state that the rapper did not have any guns, and was only singled out because the cops thought he had a nervous look on his face after police heard guns hitting the concrete. The police claim the saw Blueface reach towards his waistband.

The LAPD recently filed legal documents stating that Blueface’s denial of the situation does not give him any right to tap into confidential personnel files.
