Atlanta artist Rich Homie Quan’s buzz has commanded the attention of record label executives and the media because of his hard work and consistency and that is a great thing however we can’t overlook the hard work and lyrical skills of Atlanta’s own Fly Guy Veto, who in his own right is also a force to reckon with.

In an interview with Ilovehiphopblog.com, the rapper spoke about how he has been on his grind for some time and he doesn’t believe in asking for any handouts as evidence in his mixtape of the same title.  Veto also explained that he supports the hustle while you work campaign, referring to the fact that he maintained a 9 to 5 job while working on his music career. Now that’s what’s up.

We don’t know if the star merged her own fashion line with Rocawear but it makes perfect sense if the company is already collaborating with her for their newest line.

Dennis Byron, a former New York City Fashion Photographer was hired in the summer of 99′ to photograph Rocawear’s  Men’s and Women Clothing line campaign that was created by Roc-A-Fella Records co-founders Damon Dash and Jay-Z, and has had annual sales of $700 million.

Shanny Herrera, who was then VP of Marketing  for the Comet Group, a fashion house and licensing company approached the rap mega-star with the idea to launch Rocawear clothing. After several years of running Rocawear clothing, Herrera left the company to be an independent consultant for other popular lines.

Clayton County police raided a home on the south side of Atlanta last night and discovered a suitcase full of the popular drug “Molly” which had a street value of 3 million dollars.

Police stated that 22 kilos were found in a split-level home in Clayton County pursuant to a search warrant but they have not released the names of the individuals involved in the crime.

The drug is a mixture of Ecstasy and methamphetamine and has been talked about in popular rap songs by major label artists.

Singer Toni Braxton is by far one of the best female vocalist of 21st century and her music has touched so many however it was not enough to stop the purchase of her songs by someone who wasn’t a member of the Braxton family.

According to court documents filed in federal court, the singer wanted to close her bankruptcy case and also have the option of keeping 27 of songs for $20,000 if no one offered the estate a higher amount. Well it looks like there were two other bidders who had their eyes set on owning her priceless collection of music. One bidder identified as Ross M. Klein offered twice the amount Toni Braxton wanted to pay so he was allowed to buy it. Here is the catch though, if for some reason he fails to pony up the cash, there is another buyer standing by to make the purchase.

With all the drama that is coming out of the AEG and Michael Jackson estate lawsuit, it is no surprise that the people who knew Michael Jackson the most are coming to his defense since we all know a dead person can’t defend himself.

Wade Robson is a well known dance choreographer who has known the late superstar since he was 8 years old. On the hills of a very contentious lawsuit involving the Jackson estate and AEG, Wade Robson has filed a creditor’s claim against the estate alleging that he was in fact molested by the pop star and wanted damages for sexual assault. The problem with this is the fact that many years ago when Wade Robson was asked whether Michael Jackson did anything inappropriate with him during a criminal investigation launched by the Los Angeles DA’s office, he denied anything ever happened to him.

Singer Ray J was asked by a TMZ reporter whether he had any inappropriate experiences with the pop superstar star and he stated that nothing ever happened and that MJ was his mentor, “I wouldn’t be doing music today if it wasn’t for Michael.” Ray J admitted that he knows Michael Jackson’s accuser but he couldn’t form  an opinion on whether anything did in fact occur. One thing he was adamant about was the fact the he was “ridding” with Michael Jackson. Check out the interview below:

Her success didn’t come without a price as she explained during an interview with Oprah Winfrey. Douglass spoke about how she experienced racism while in Virginia training at Excalibur, the gym located in Virginia Beach. It was during that time that her family decided to shift gears and move her out of the state to Iowa and Liang Chow with whom she won the Olympic gold medal.

She explained in an excerpt from “Grace, Gold & Glory” :

“I can get a job at Chick-Fil-A in Virginia Beach and live off the 14-grand I just won at World Championships,”

She admitted that statement broke her mother’s heart but it was not until her big brother John convinced her to keep competing. In another part of her book she spoke about how her military dad Sgt. Timothy Douglass was not a part of her life since 2001 and that it was in fact her mother who supported her climb to success. You might remember that right after her win, her dad told reporters that he always supported his daughter’s career however Gabby denied his account.

Her story is a reminder that we all as Americans can reach the highest mountain as long as we are willing to make the climb.

Pimping ain’t dead and this proves it! According to the Chicago Tribune  Alex“Cowboy” Campbell was sentenced to life in prison for prostitution. Campbell reportedly raped and terrorized the women that he forced into prostitution and branded their bodies as well.

Life sentences are not common for pimps, but U.S. District Judge Robert Gettleman said the branding of the women warranted one in Campbell’s case.

“I think the worst thing you did to these girls, frankly, is branding them the way you did,” Gettleman said before imposing a life sentence on Campbell. “They can’t get rid of those tattoos. … They have a life sentence, all of them. Every time they look in the mirror. … And it’s gonna hurt. Their life sentences compel a life sentence for you.”

Seems like a fitting sentence for a sleaze bag.

According to Newsday, Kansas City Chiefs’ linebacker Javon Belcher shot and killed his girlfriend Kasandra Perkins and then took his own life. Javon Belcher reportedly took his life in front of the teams head coach and general manager.

The Kansas City Star reported on its website, Kansascity.com, that police Capt. David Lindaman said Belcher and Perkins got into an argument about 7 a.m. at their home in the 5400 block of Crysler Avenue in Kansas City. About 7:50 a.m., Belcher shot his girlfriend multiple times, according to the website. Perkins was then taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

In a statement, Chiefs chairman and chief executive Clark Hunt said: “The entire Chiefs family is deeply saddened by today’s events, and our collective hearts are heavy with sympathy, thoughts and prayers for the families and friends affected by this unthinkable tragedy. We sincerely appreciate the expressions of sympathy and support we have received from so many in the Kansas City and NFL communities, and ask for continued prayers for the loved ones of those impacted. We will continue to fully cooperate with the authorities and work to ensure that the appropriate counseling resources are available to all members of the organization.”

This is such a sad story….both families are dealing with tragedy!
