After the success of her debut album “Broke With Expensive Taste” and international tours, Azealia Banks is now headed to the big screen! The 23-year-old will star in the film “Coco,” which will be directed by RZA.
The drama film is set in Brooklyn and Banks will play an aspiring rapper with dreams of a career in hip hop, but her parents want her to finish getting her college degree. Eventually, she gives in and attends college, while there she experiences the power of the spoken word and that will help her future rap career.
Production on the film will start soon, but before that Azealia Banks will launch another overseas tour next month.
Common, Jill Scott, Lucien Laviscount, Lorraine Toussaint, and Hana Mae Lee will also star alongside Azealia Banks in the film.
