Update: All charges related to the arrest of Scrapp Deleon and family have been dismissed.
We are reporting this story even though one of the people involved is a close friend of the Hip Hop Enquirer family.
On March 4, 46-year-old Lyndon Baines Smith was beaten in the Bridgemill subdivision of Canton, police said.
Later, during a traffic stop, Smith was found in the trunk of his own car by a Cleburne County, Alabama deputy.
The driver of the car, 22-year-old Melvin Floyd of Atlanta, was charged with aggravated battery, theft of motor vehicle, aggravated assault and kidnapping with bodily injury.

Floyd was released from the Cherokee Adult Detention Center on March 17 with an $88,800 bond.
On Thursday, U.S. Marshals arrested 24-year-old Will Cortez Robinson aka Scrapp Deleon who is also a former member of the teen group Da Raz Cruz and 22-year-old Robert Silva Jr., both of Atlanta.
This is a tragic incident and obviously not sitting well with Will Robinson’s family. Just a couple of years ago, Akon’s protégé rapper Dolla was killed outside the Beverly Center in Los Angeles by Aubrey Berry.
Robinson and his close friend DJ Shabazz was with Dolla when he died. According to our sources, there may have been a fight at the residence with the alleged victim as a result of him assaulting a minor.
They were charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault and kidnapping with bodily injury.
Both men are in custody in the Fulton County Jail awaiting transport to the Cherokee Adult Detention Center.
