We’re sure our invite was lost in the mail. The other night in NYC, Jay-Z & Kanye West invited some of their closest friends in the industry for an uber exclusive listening session for their much anticipated Watch the Throne album. From what we can tell, the environment was pretty relaxed. Nothing too over the top (which is saying alot in Beyonce’s case), nothing flashy, or gimmicky. However, given who some of the attendees were (Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Busta Rhymes, Q-Tip, Jada Pinkett-Smith), we can pretty much guestimate that what appears to be simple was probably tantamount to a rent payment.

Case in point, Jay-Z’s basic white button up shirt with bee logo at the bottom is actually anything but basic being that it’s from Dior Homme and costs $480.
Kanye in Balmain shirt & denim
Even Mr. West himself, who often goes for the more flamboyant choices, was dressed more demure than usual in an unbuttoned plaid western style shirt by Balmain over plain gray tee and Balmain denim. Don’t let your eyes deceive your wallet. Before you run out looking to add these pieces to your own wardrobe keep in mind that the price tags can and will run upwards of the hundreds, even thousands of dollars!
