Dr. Boyce Watkins Thoughts on Bobby Shmurda; Case Update

Rapper Bobby Shmurda's arrest: Black men are stars of the genocidal minstrel show

Excerpt from the caption of Dr. Boyce Watkin, author and social commentator:

“In this video, I want to discuss the recent arrest of rapper Bobby Shmurda, aka Ackquille Jean Pollard. Bobby spends most of his time rapping about carrying guns and killing other black men. So, should we be surprised that he’s now facing serious prison time on charges of gun possession?

The case of Bobby Shmurda is par for the course in how hip-hop on the radio has now been converted to a tool for black male genocide and self-destruction. Rappers are paid by big, racist corporations to promote stereotypical images, and to endorse violent behavior toward other black men.

At some point, we may have to face the fact that there are institutions in this country that are seeking to kill your child psychologically before he even has a chance to develop into a successful human being. That’s why we must stand up against the bastardization of hip-hop.”

Ackquille Pollard, also known under his stage name as Bobby Shmurda, pled not guilty this past Thursday toward charges against him in connection to several gang-related shootings. The crimes believed to have happened in the midst of territory disputes over drug trafficking.

As a result, Pollard was held on $2 million bail after his hearing in Manhattan, NY, due to the fact that Pollard’s attorney, Howard Greenberg, failed to prove his case. His argument was that Pollard was framed for the entire ordeal, that of which, the judge wasn’t sold on. As the investigation got under way, police found two handguns and as well as crack cocaine in a car that Pollard was riding in, according to the police.
