Its official! In just 3 months music lovers from all over the country will all be reunited at this year’s ONE Musicfest in none other than Atlanta, Georgia.
First getting its start in 2010, the Southeast’s largest annual urban progressive music festival will be returning for its 8th year scheduled on Saturday September 9th, 2017 at the Lakewood Amphitheatre. This one-day festival will now be headlined by some of the music industries top recording artists including Jill Scott, yasiin bey (formerly known as Mos Def), Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Sean Paul, Jidenna, Kaytranada, Too $hort, Tank and the Bangas, and many more!
Last year’s festivities gained memorable recognition after selling out very quickly and also being noted on a list of “Can’t Miss Festivals” by Billboard, Rolling Stone, MTV, and even Revolt TV. Also, social media didn’t miss a beat and made the hashtag #ONEMUSICFEST become a #1 trending topic as the performances got better and better as the day went on. As a result, the entire festival cultivated a whopping 1.8 billion media impressions online.
This music and arts festival seems to be getting better and better each year with showcasing its most diverse and dynamic musical act lineup yet. With the three-time Grammy award winning songstress Jill Scott to the “classic man” himself Jidenna, this day full of music will be sure to impress on an urban scale. The stage is even set to go down in history as the last place yasinn bey will step foot as a performer or what he has named his final show.
Just a day ahead on Friday September 8th, One Musicfest plans to celebrate at the Tabernacle in Atlanta with a predicted 2,600 music lovers. Performers set to grace the stage are Noname, Ari Lennox, J.I.D., and Thundercat. This event will prep the festival goers for a 11 hour day filled with soulful music taking place on two performance stages and also three DJ stages.
