After being destroyed by heartbreak, Mary J. Blige returns with a soulful sound of heart cry “Whole Damn Year,” the first single off her latest recording “The London Sessions.”
Fans can expect a taste of London style R&B from her fourthcoming album. After recently featuring on Sam Smith’s single “Stay with me,” the two collab again along with Disclosure from the hit single “Latch” topping charts both in the U.S. and U.K. Other album features include Emeli Sandé, Jimmy Napes, Naughty Boy, and Sam Romans.
Blige currently has a trailor for the album and is said to release documentaries of her experience in London as it pertains to the new release.
Expect the R&B queen to perform “Whole Damn Year” and many of her album singles at the iTunes Festival at London’s Roundhouse on September 25th.
“Bad how deep the pain is/Oooh you just couldn’t believe/And yeah I seem good on the surface, but I’m a mess, I’m a mess underneath” sings Mary.
Mary J Blige: The London Sessions is due out Nov. 24.
