During a trip to Baltimore over the weekend, Jay Z and Beyoncé spent time with Freddie Gray’s family. The celebrity couple was in Baltimore for the “Rally 4 Peace” event on Sunday, where Prince performed his protest song for the city.

On April 12th, Freddie Gray, who was arrested without cause, died in police custody. Six cops and one of them with a history of mental health issues, repeatedly ignored Gray’s request for medical attention.

“These charges are an important step in getting justice for Freddie,” the victim’s stepfather, Richard Shipley, said after the news.

“I am honored to join Prince in his mission to inspire through the uniting power of music and be able to offer a platform where this moment can be shared globally,” Jay said in a statement on Friday.

Jay has joined the movement, when he matched donations through the rally’s website for the “Baltimore Justice Fund.”
