Thousands of registered sex offenders have received U.S. passports. They travel to foreign countries that are known for sex-trafficking. There is no law that can legally deny a passport to a registered sex offender, except those convicted of sex tourism. Check out the video.
A recent report concluded that about 4,500 U.S. passports of the more than 16 million issued in fiscal year 2008 were issued to registered sex offenders.
