In a new court filing U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Breon Peace wants a federal judge to rescind the bond of Christopher “DeBoski” Gunn for alleged violations of his pre-release conditions which centers around alleged use of marijuana while on bond, alleged intimidation of a witness or victim in his case and leaving his home while on bond. The motion interestingly references a video in which Gunn posted to his youtube channel where he claims an “informant” is threatening his life. While we can’t confirm the voice on the video is in fact an informant but it does appear the person on the video has threatened to shoot Dunn and was asking the person in the video about having access to the defendant’s address.

Apparently from the court filing it does appear that there is some type of connection with the voice in the video and the government’s case against Christopher Gunn otherwise why would this not be treated as a potential crime? The hearing is scheduled for 2:00pm today and we will be updating the story at the conclusion of the hearing.

After R & B superstar R. Kelly was convicted last month on federal sex racketeering charges, his supporters have been crying foul ever since and today many of them are planning to converge on his former Johns Creek home in the suburbs of Atlanta to show their support for the fallen singer.

Arthur D. Alston III professionally known as Choke The Joke, a former Rocafella Records Video Director and Real Housewives of Atlanta producer and social media influencer is spearheading the peaceful protest to bring more attention to what he and many others believes was a wrongful conviction. Choke’s goal is to bring more attention to the 1907 Mann Act that is viewed as a racist law that has been used in the past to prosecute men of color for dating white women.

Choke The Joke

Congress passes the Mann Act, which was ostensibly aimed at keeping young women from being lured into prostitution, but really offered a way to make a crime out of many kinds of consensual sexual activity.

The influencer was appointed by a cadre of Robert Sylvester Kelly’s supporters to expose some of the problems that lead up to the government convicting the singer on 9 felony counts which includes the discrepancies in witness testimony during the trial and how the Surviving R. Kelly documentary was laced in falsehoods that provided a platform for some whose sole purpose was to financially benefit from the singer’s name. From 3p-6pm today, hundreds of supporters is expected to converge on R. Kelly’s former neighborhood located in the 400 block of Old Homestead Trail, Johns Creek. According to Choke, the current owner of the home has no issue with their presence as long as they do not get on the property.

Singer Kid Rock made some controversial comments about Taylor Swift on Twitter on Friday causing many to call him out for his crudeness.

The tweets were likely in response to Swift’s September Vogue interview, where she states her reasoning for not endorsing a candidate in the 2016 election.

“Unfortunately in the 2016 election you had a political opponent who was weaponizing the idea of the celebrity endorsement. He was going around saying, ‘I’m a man of the people. I’m for you. I care about you.’ I just knew. I knew I wasn’t going to help,” Swift said. “Also, you know, the summer before that election, all people were saying was: ‘(Taylor Swift’s) calculated. She’s manipulative. She’s not what she seems. She’s a snake. She’s a liar.’ These are the same exact insults people were hurling at Hillary (Clinton).”

She added, “Would I be an endorsement or would I be a liability? Look, snakes of a feather flock together. Look, the two lying women. The two nasty women. Literally millions of people were telling me to disappear. So I disappeared. In many senses,” she said.

Swift also expressed her concerns about racism and discrimination against the LGBTQ community in the United States during the interview.

This is likely what prompted Kid Rock’s response, as he took to Twitter on Friday to bash Swift.

“Taylor Swift wants to be a democrat because she wants to be in movies….period,” he wrote. “And it looks like she will suck the door knob off Hollyweird to get there. Oldest move in the book. Good luck girl. -Kid Rock.”

Kid Rock has been an avid supporter of Donald Trump, and even visited the White House back in 2017.

Celebrities quickly jumped to Swift’s defense on social media. Chrissy Teigen wrote “you’re pathetic. – Chrissy Teigen,” while Sheryl Crow said “Spread love. Not hate. End of subject.”

“Literally any rock is better than Kid Rock,” Adam Best said. “Fraggle Rock, Jailhouse Rock, the Rock, Chris Rock, a small rock that flew up from the road and cracked my windshield.”

Swift will appear in the upcoming Cats movie. She has yet to respond to Kid Rock’s comments.

Miley Cyrus faced criticism on Twitter for videos she posted of her twerking to Megan thee Stallion’s Simon Says.

The 26-year-old performed at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, where she famously twerked on Robin Thicke. Many were shocked at her drastic attempt to distance herself from her Hannah Montana persona.

Cyrus posted the twerking videos on Thursday as a way to join the hot girl movement. She can be seen in her at-home workout studio, with the camera set up to record her reflection in the mirror. Megan even quoted the tweet, captioning it “Hot girl Miley ????.” However, the Wrecking Ball singer was quick to face backlash from many people on the internet. One user stated “Love miley but that sh*ts about as jiggly as a brick,” while another user said “watching miley cyrus trying to twerk is painful.”

One user even compared her twerking to Zoey dancing against the cashews in The Proud Family Movie. However, some users did come to her defense, saying that she was just having fun and that she has improved from her past twerking performances.

The singer quickly jumped to her own defense on Instagram after a user commented on whether or not she was good at twerking. Cyrus replied, “Literally doesn’t matter! Dancing health benefits: improved condition of your heart and lungs. increased muscular strength, endurance and motor fitness. increased aerobic fitness. improved muscle tone and strength. stronger bones and reduced risk of osteoporosis. better coordination, agility and flexibility. YASS PLEASE.”

Rapper Cardi B claps back at controversial comments made my rapper Jermaine Dupri in a recent interview.

Many female rappers have emerged within the past few years, ultimately changing the rap game as we know it. Newcomers such as Megan thee Stallion and Saweetie have established themselves in the rap game, while artists such as Cardi B and Nicki Minaj are seemingly some of the most talked about rappers in the industry.

However, some people seem to have mixed feelings about this shift in music. In a recent interview with People, Jermaine Dupri stated that he thinks all female rappers talk about the same thing and have little variety.

“They all rapping about the same thing and I don’t think they’re showing us who is the best rapper,” Dupri said. “For me, it’s like strippers rapping.”

Cardi B quickly took to Twitter to respond, posting a video expressing her opinion that female rappers only rap about their sexuality because it is what people want to hear.

“It seems like that’s what people want to hear. I ain’t even gonna front because let me tell you something. When I did “Be Careful”, people was talking mad sht in the beginning, like “What the fck is this? This is not what I expected,” Cardi said. “If that’s what people isn’t trying to hear, then it’s like alright, I’mma start rapping about my p*ssy again.”

Cardi then went on to say that the women rapper who do not talk about their sexuality are not supported like those who do, as that is not mainstream. She also made a point to shout out other female rappers in another video such as Chika, Rapsody, and Tierra Whack for their efforts.

The City Girls are making a name for themselves, as no-nonsense type of women. They’re blunt and very direct. Though Yung Miami is the only one on the scene right now, they’re both known for their unapologetic demeanor.

They’re fairly new in the game. And as we all know, celebrity skeletons are the first ones to come out of the closet. It was only a matter of time before their first scandal. In this case, some of Miami’s old tweets have popped back up to haunt her. Old tweets seem to be the bain of everyone’s existence at some point. This City Girl was no exception to the right of passage.

In the thread above, the Twitter user calls Miami out about her comments about Haitians. Most people came to her defense claiming that it was casual banter between Haitians and Americans, that is common in Miami, FL. Some said that the user was reaching because the tweets are from 2013, and that she needed to pick a side.  The tweets were pretty explicit and shocking, to say the least. She calls them ugly and jealous, freeloaders, and tells them they need to go back to Haiti. There are four screenshot pages of tweets dogging Haitian men and women. But it doesn’t stop there another user dug up a tweet of hers that was on the homophobic side as well. Claiming to beat her son if he ever displays and “gay” characteristics.

It seems she learned her lesson though. She issued a public apology for her words and said she loves all her City Girls AND Boys. She claims to be older and wiser, and that those tweets don’t reflect who she is now. We’ve all said some things we regret, so it looks like people are letting this one go. According to theJasmineBRAND.com, Masika Kalysha reportedly will not be returning for the next season of Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood and this came “per her own request. “Based on the site’s report the reality star beauty, Masika feels that she has outgrown the show.

Masika has been on the show for three years. After one year of being a main cast member, she has decided to leave the show. This happens to be after her rival Alexis Skyy appears on the show last season. Alexis Skyy was brought on to confront Masika for sleeping with her ex-boyfriend Fetty Wap while they were together. Masika denied all allegations and refused to shoot with Alexis Sky. She felt as though the only story-line she had been surrounded around her.  Alexis Skyy is now pregnant with Fetty Wap’s baby. This would make her child Masika’s daughter brother or sister.

Masika has already missed filming and allegedly is excited about moving on, as well as opting out of the contract. It is reported that unless a cast member is fired from the show, contractually, it is nearly impossible for he/she to leave before their contract ends. Though they’re some upsetting rumors about Masika Kalysha leaving there are also rumors about singer & reality star, K Michelle returning to Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood. Is Masika really leaving and is K Michelle returning back to the franchise? I guess you’ll have to tune into Vh1 this summer to see.

There are times when celebrities should use their platform for the good of humanity and Hollywood actor Michael Rapaport has shown that he can do that as he did during his outspoken opinion on how Donald Trump has wielded his power in the Oval office. But unfortunately his opinion on music and the relevancy of musical talent wasn’t as warmly received.  Rapaport decided to question whether the support musical icon Janet Jackson was receiving because of her exclusion from this year’s Superbowl was even justified. Check out his tweet below:

Justin Timberlake graced the stage at the 2018 Super Bowl in Minnesota. This was his first time returning since 2004 when he and Janet Jackson performed during Superbowl’s halftime show. In that performances things didn’t go so ell due to a wardrobe malfunction which was the result of Justin Timberlake revealing one of Janet’s breast for the world to see. Many had questioned whether that particular episode was staged or not because Janet had wore a pasty under her costume. As a result, FCC fined Janet Jackson millions of dollars while Justin wasn’t reprimanded. She has since not been invited to perform at the show while Justin was asked to do the halftime performance this year.

 

After posting the video he titled “My Social Media Personal Policy” HHE responded telling Michael his “Black Card” is about to be revoked. Micheal then responded back to us with some graphic and just plain outrageous tweets.

Maybe we were trolling the actor as well but hopefully he understands that many people will always view Janet Jackson as a musical icon. By the way, does anyone question Barbara Streisand’s greatness after she takes off 10 plus years before she does a public appearance.

It must be noted that Rapaport also co-starred in Poetic Justice with Tupac Shakur and Janet Jackson. Film Director Spike Lee cast Rapaport in his 90’s hit film Bamboozled. He also attended Dr. Martin Luther King High School in New York City which was predominately attended by African-Americans.

Republic Records President, Music Mogul and Judge of Fox “The Four” Charlie Walk claims he is being extorted by an old rival Tom Gilligan.  Charlie Walk claims to have a voicemail of Gilligan threatening to destroy his career. Walk states that Gilligan is upset because he didn’t set up a meet and greet between Gilligan & Jon Bon Jovi. According to TMZ who has possession of the voicemail quote on quote:

“The caller, who sounds drunk, offers Charlie a “deal” — resign from ‘The Four’ and Republic and “nobody will ever say anything.” He claimed Walk hired hookers, and 3 women were ready to go public as part of the #MeToo movement.”

For those who are not familiar with the #MeTooMovement, this was created by victims of sexual and domestic violence as a way to share their own experiences with sexual assault and/or harassment without going into depth. This also displays their unity and support for one another.

These threats from Gilligan was left on Walks voicemail a month prior to Tristan Coopersmith going public with allegations of sexual misconduct against Walk. Due to these accusations, Walk has resigned from “The Four” season finale. The other judges on the show P Diddy, Dj Khaled and Meghan Trainor still haven’t spoken out about Walks decision on resigning for the season finale. Also, there’s no indication of who will be replacing Walk for “The Four” season finale this Thursday.

Walk’s attorney, Duncan Levin, says they’ve taken the necessary steps and filed a complaint about Gilligan with the Manhattan D.A.’s office and submitted the voicemail as evidence.

Heads are rolling at various major record labels since the #MeToo movement has started and we doubt if This story is developing.

Today social media really displayed the true definition of gone but never gotten. Twitter users take to social Media today remembering Trayvon Martin on his birthday. For those are not familiar with Trayvon Martin. He was the unarmed African-American Miami teen killed by neighborhood vigilante George Zimmerman, 28, on February 26, 2012.

This tragic & deadly shooting sparked national protests, discussions on race relations, racial profiling by police and senseless gun violence. This shooting is one of the beginning reasons for the quote that we’re all familiar with “Black Lives Matter.” Five years ago a prince was taken away from us. Today, February 5th, 2018 he would’ve been 23. Here’s how Twitter users joins together to helps us celebrate his birthday.

It was all good not too long ago Ye…It appears as Kanye West is finished backing his pal Donald Trump as hit Twitter account no longer features any mentions of Trump. Sources within TMZ say that Kanye West does not approve of how Donald Trump has handled these first two weeks in office.

The two had a very public photo-op back in December after meeting Trump in New York City. After this meeting West would go on to tweet that “I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change.” It would appear the Muslim ban is the driving factor for Mr. West’s actions.

While it can be stated Kanye should have been on game, it is never to late to get wise.

Houston’s Kyle Hubbard is not what would immediately jump to mind when asked to conjure up an H-town rapper but he has been a staple of the independent scene for years with the media accolades to prove it. Hence the premier of his latest visual, “This Is Houston” ft. T2 The Ghetto Hippie and Lyric Michelle by none other than the Houston Chronicle. Though not a slab swangin’, lean sippin’ caracature of Screwston, Kyle proudly represents his city to the fullest. This video alone features Hubbard, Lyric Michelle and T2 the Ghetto Hippie alongside various familiar landmarks, including Frenchy’s, The Breakfast Klub, Warehouse Live and The Safehouse and all of the shirts worn by Kyle sport Houston bands or come from the local brands 1836 Clothing Company & Forgotten Arts Clothing.  

“Lyric, T2, and I don’t fit into the mold that is so often associated with Houston hip-hop, despite the fact we have all three been active members in the city’s hip-hop scene for years.

Lyric’s hook is dripping with Houston hip-hop stereotypes, but that it is delivered by a female emcee known for her poetic lyrics gives the whole thing a tongue-in-cheek feel. The verses delivered by T2 and myself are more on the nose with the entire concept. The juxtaposition between the hook/production and the verses is all very deliberate.” Hubbard tells the Chronicle.

Lafayette singer/songwriter Yung Juko is back with “Pray For Me”, a visual in which he puts all the cards on the table; defying doctors’ predictions that he would never walk, growing up walking differently due to the congenital deformation known as Spina Bifida and the ridicule that came with it, and realizing that he had a talent for overcoming odds which would serve him well as he embarked on an entertainment career.

“Pray For Me” is Juko’s bravest video to date. There are no clever camera angles to hide his disability. In fact, he challenges the haters with his head held high. “I can feel the hate. I can see the hate. And the sad thing is, it’s in familiar faces.” he sings from the steps of a beautiful local church.

Atlanta’s Piedmont Park housed the 5th annual Pure Heat Community Festival; also known as a free “day of unity.” The multi-cultural event was equipped with market and food vendors, live celebrity and local performers, entertainment, educational forums, prizes & giveaways. R&B songstress K. Michelle performed a medley of her Billboard chart-toping hits, auditioned three upcoming singers live for Atlantic records, and received the 2016 Humanitarian Award presented by The Vision Community Foundation.

2016 featured live performances by Tiffany Evans (“Promise Ring”) and Jhonni Blaze (VH1 “Love & Hip Hop”) and featured pride welcome greetings from Trina and Towanda Braxton (WE tv “Braxton Family Values”), Tameka Foster (VH1 “Atlanta Exes”), Mimi Faust and Erica Mena (VH1 “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta”), Karamo Brown (MTV “The Real World”), Gary Lavard (“About Him”), Bishop Oliver Clyde Allen (“Vision Community Foundation” Executive Director) Melissa Scott (“Traxx Girls” CEO) and Avian Watson (“Vision Community Foundation” Deputy Director) presented special awards to long time Atlanta Black Gay Pride supporters Ryan Anderson (“SunTrust Bank”), Frederick Anderson (“Freddy O”), Pam Stewart (“Coca Cola”) and Earl Fowlkes Jr. (“Center for Black Equity”).

Karamo Brown attended the Festival on behalf of Positively Fearless, a movement from Janssen Therapeutics that celebrates being black, brave, proud, gay even being HIV-positive. Positively Fearless asks people to live out loud and help the community reduce the spread of HIV by encouraging people to get tested, and, for those who are HIV-positive, to take a proactive role in their health, seek treatment and stick to it.

The Festival included live performances from independent LGBT artists like Victor Jackson, Nubian King, Rahim Brazil, Denzell Phillips, Cordae Gomes, Neesha Nycee, BWA and more. WE tv “Cutting It: in the ATL” star Beautti J hosted the infamous live hair battle and j-sette dance competition.

One of Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s closest aides Huma Abedin has finally decided that her husband’s perverted actions via social media is becoming a huge distraction to the democratic candidate had has decided to leave her husband. Anthony was trending on twitter once again and of course it was of a sexual nature. Weiner was allegedly caught sending a lurid photo of himself to another woman while his minor son laid beside him.

Weiner’s political career was derailed in 2011 when he accidentally tweeted a photo of his crotch that was meant to be private messaged to a different woman with whom he was flirting online.

Abedin, meanwhile, has remained one of Hillary Clinton’s closest aides.

He returned to Twitter in April 2013, ahead of his failed mayoral run — when he was again busted for sexting, this time by Sydney Leathers, who exposed the digital dalliance.

At the time, Abedin stood by Weiner, saying the couple had worked through his perverse tendencies through “a lot of therapy.”

For the uninformed, Chicago-based Chine Music released Stakks’ first solo song “Stakk Money” in 2015 and it was quickly named “one of the hottest songs in the city’ by Fakeshore Drive. They followed that up with a ‘mixtape before the mixtape’, “Off My Chest” in late 2015. In May 2016, they leaked “Sell Dope & Gang Bang” Feat. G. Those are the words of a woman who introduced herself to me as an Entrepreneur Empowerment Powerhouse. And while looking over her creative resume, I now understand why. Ameniki, a blogger, social media strategist, and BBBF (Blogger Business Best Friend, takes full pride and in her all the ups and downs throughout her journey as an entrepreneur. Born and raised in Trinidad, she’s currently making an impact in her community by helping others with her tips and personal losses in business.

After experiencing 5 business failures, Ameniki is the definition of an entrepreneur who’s not afraid it dust herself off and try again! What intrigued me most about Ameniki is how authentic her brand is! Just by her initial approach to her audience, you know right away that she’s not only there to help, but she understands the struggle most entrepreneurs have gone through or are currently experiencing. Ameniki admits, “My brand is for that person who got doors slammed in their face, who were denied loans, who were left out in the cold because they were not hip enough. The business person, who has tried on numerous occasions to win but is still figuring it out and does not have the finances to hire some-one to help. I know the feeling of having a huge amount of expenses for your business but not being able to juggle all of them and wanting some-one with the right intentions to help you. I have been in several different business ventures since 2008 but my blog has enabled me to have a voice about the state of entrepreneurship locally.”

As single mother of a beautiful two-year-old baby girl, her ultimate goals not only consist of encouraging millenials with her writing and services while gaining financial freedom in the process. Her greatest goal of all is making her daughter proud in the process. “I have a daughter who is ultimately awesome and looks up to me. I can’t be just anybody, I need to be great.”

]]> harper10n-1-webNY W.B.L.S. radio station legendary late night DJ Vaughn Harper has died at the age of 71. He and co-host Champaine reigned the airwaves with some smooth sounding r & b hits and classics that was a hit for many New Yorker’s.

Officials at the radio station confirmed his death via a tweet which stated:

The popular “Quiet Storm” show was launched in the early 1980’s and Harper remained at the station until 2008. He suffered a stroke in 1993 which some thought would end his career but he later returned to the airwaves doing short stints at WWRL, WBGO and WTJM before rejoining the station that started his career. An avid basketball player standing 6’4, Harper was almost selected to play for the NBA in Detroit.

Within the last hour 3 people were shot outside a venue where rapper T.I. was scheduled to perform and police are now looking for the gunman. One female was shot in the leg while a male was shot in the chest. A third person was also shot but his condition is unknown at this time. One witness stated that people were being let into the club without being searched and that once he heard the shot, he just stood against a nearby wall.
Police said a 34-year-old man was shot in the chest and a 33-year-old man was shot in the stomach. One of the men later died at a hospital, police did not say which one. A 26-year-old woman was shot in the leg. Police said a fourth person walked into a hospital on their own.

Elijah Rodriguez was attending the concert with his sister and they were in the VIP area by the stage. He said T.I. was supposed to go on stage at 9 or 9:30 p.m. but “he never showed up.” At or around 10 p.m. he said the venue started playing music again, and at about 10:15 p.m., he saw a line of people coming out from where the performers were coming onstage.

The shooting occurred around 10:15pm as the rapper was putting on a show for about 1000 people. The 4th person who was shot walked to nearby NYU medical center for treatment but his condition is unknown at this time.

Mobile, Alabama’s J. Simon premieres his most recent contribution to the southern hip hop, “Joe Rodeo,” which features a stellar in-your-face appearnance by Tazz Santana. The single is produced by Nard Kidd and has amassed over 11,000 organic plays on Soundcloud in the short time since its premiere. J Simon’s recent mixtape “I AM J. SIMON” (hosted by Rich Gang DJ Swamp Izzo) includes the last known verse recorded by Mobile hip hop pioneer The Last Mr. Bigg before he passed away in 2015. Formerly known as Rellik the Dirt Road Pimp, J Simon is recognized in the Gulf Coast for his blending of rock, RnB, funk, soul and jazz with signature hardcore lyricism.
