1:30pm EST – Pop singer Justin Bieber is scheduled to perform at the services as well as other notables.

The hip hop community is mourning the loss of rapper Takeoff who was 1/3 member of the chart-topping rap group Migos that is affectionately known to his family as Kirsnick Khari Ball, a resident of Gwinnett County, Georgia. Takeoff was a victim of a stray bullet according to police sources that occurred in Houston, Texas while at a private birthday celebration.

An argument ensued involving his uncle Quavo who is also a member of the rap trio that resulted in gunfire which ended Takeoff’s life. According to a autopsy report, the slain rapper was struck in the head and the torso where he died at the scene of the shooting. Houston Police has yet to make an arrest. Reports earlier surfaced online that an alleged individual who was believed to have been involved in the rapper’s death was also killed days later which ultimately was proven to be false.

Funeral arrangements for Migos founding member Takeoff were announced on Tuesday. The rapper, whose real name is Kirsnick Khari Ball, was shot and killed in Houston on Nov. 1. 

His family will host a special “Celebration of Life” this Friday, November 11, at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena at 12:00 p.m. Official details follow in part below:

The public memorial will follow a strict no photo and no video policy. All devices will be checked with Yondr bags prior to entering the arena. Media will not be allowed entry to cover the event. Images from the event will be provided following the conclusion.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers or gifts that donations should be made to The Rocket Foundation which was recently established to support programs which are saving lives through proven, community-based solutions to prevent gun violence.

Instead of having regrets of passing on the role of Lucious Lyon on FOX’s Empire, actor Wesley Snipes has nothing but love for the show and its star Terrence Howard. According to TMZ, Snipes would not mind having a guest spot on the hit TV show.

Back in January, creator Lee Daniels said that his first choice was Wesley Snipes, but Taraji P. Henson (who plays Cookie Lyon) suggested that Terrence Howard should play the role of Lucious because she had better chemistry with him. So Wesley lost the film role.

When Wesley was asked about the show and why he could not commit to the role he said: Yeah, the ‘Empire’ thing did come across my desk and it just, the combination of things and the time demands didn’t make it viable.”

It is obvious that Empire stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson have a special on-air chemistry, that goes back to 2005’s Hustle & Flow. The two now play ex-husband and ex-wife on the hit FOX show Empire and Howard says the two have been “battling” ever since. In the latest issue of Emmy Magazine, the dynamic duo grace the cover and discuss their friendship and business partnership.

“Taraji needs to have the last word, the last look, and I don’t know how to give up any ground,” Terrence explained.

Created by Lee Daniels, FOX’s latest hit show Empire revolves around a powerful family in the music industry. Music mogul Lucious Lyon (played by Terrence Howard), is a wealthy man who has been diagnosed with ALS and decides that his music empire needs a successor, while Taraji plays Cookie Lyon, the ex-con and ex-wife of the Lucious character. There three sons Andre, Jamal, and Hakeem all fight for the family’s legacy.

“I told her, ‘You will never steal a frame from me. And don’t you let me take a frame from you.’ That’s our thing with each other,” he explained. “It’s like the Thrilla in Manila. We’ll keep battling until somebody dies.”

Speaking at a recent panel in  Los Angeles, Taraji  has made it clear that she needs to win for African-American history because no other black actress has won for best actress in a TV drama series.  “It would be incredible. Wow! I gotta win! I gotta win for history!” she said.

The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards will air on September 20th on FOX.

The LAPD got a judge to sign a warrant and are investigating the case to see if ex-wife Michelle Ghent is the person behind suspicious death threats on Terrence’s Instagram.

The Instagram user @jchang768 is posting terrifying threats under pictures like “I’m watching you! I’m coming for … LOL. You two won’t live to see your children.”

Howard believes it’s his ex because the anonymous Instagram user @jchang768 only follower is Michelle Ghent.  Terrence claims he has been receiving these posts for about a year and filed a police report because he is in fear of his life.

As more information is released about the upcoming Lee Daniels created Hip-Hop drama, fans can not help but to get excited. The Wrap reports that mega producer Timbaland will be assigned to creating the original songs for the upcoming film. The project will feature both existing and original music.

Directed by Daniels and co-written by Charlie Strong, the show will star Daniels’ “The Butler” star Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson. These two stars have worked together before in case “Hustle & Flow” doesn’t  ring a bell.  We can already expect to be blown away from these two. No word yet on a release date but it is definitely shaping up to be an epic project. With Timbaland over the music, we can already expect to be dancing in our seats.

“You cannot take one gun out of one person’s hands without taking the gun out of everyone’s hands because whoever has the power will abuse it. I think until we evolve and see each other for what and who we are to each other than guns are going to be necessary…But it’s not the gun that kills, it’s the person pulling the trigger.”

On Saturday, media giants Oprah and Tyler Perry hosted a private screening of new flick Red Tails starring Ne-Yo, Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr., Elijah Kelly, Nate Parker, Tristan Wilds and directed by Anthony Hemingway. “Red Tails” is a World War II action movie, depicting the story of a group of black airmen who faced segregation during their Tuskegee training program, but were eventually called into duty. The screening was held at Dallas, TX’s AMC Theater at NorthPark Center.

Oprah seemed to enjoy mingling with the cast as she later tweeted Ne-Yo saying “@NeYoCompound you were really good and added  humor to this film. I loved the camaraderie with the bro’s. Loved meeting you.” Red Tails hits theaters January 20, check out the trailer and more pics below!
