Keith Murray and Fredro Starr as well as Mike Jones and Bone Crusher were scheduled to battle it out on Sunday at The MC Wars  NWO 2 event just outside Atlanta but things didn’t go as planned as the promoters were short on the dough.  Keith Murray made it clear that he and Fredro were there and ready to put on for Hip-Hop as he explained to RapGrid, “We worked hard and came here and the promoter ain’t have the bread… This is a bad day for Hip-hop and I ain’t have nothing negative to do with the situation.  Mc War is about real bulls— right now and everyone need to know.”

MC Wars COO Amir James also spoke with AllHipHop and stated that he was in discussions with all four rappers about possibly rescheduling the event. Each MC was paid their advance but the balances were unpaid at the time of the show.  Young Jack Thriller was also supposed to referee and host the battle but according to James, the show became endangered after payments from two of the sponsors for NWO 2 had not arrived at the time.  James told AllHipHop,  “We’re going to make good on this. We’re going to move forward.”

Editor’s note: While Hip Hop Enquirer was an official media sponsor for Atlanta Hip Hop Day which was a huge success, we were like many very surprised that the MC battle of Keith Murray and Fredro Starr didn’t happen and had we been apprised of this information beforehand, we would have informed our readers. Atlanta Hip Hop Day however was a complete success and we plan on releasing video footage of the performances and artist interviews in the days to come.
