Juicy J may be signed to Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang imprint now, but Last Thursday the Three Six Mafia legend gave us that old thing back when he hit Atlanta with Dom Kennedy and Freddie Gibbs. The result was a flawless blend of parental advisory southern hip hop that many of us 80’s babies grew up on meets the new school. Quad on Spring St. was packed with college kids, hip hop heads and anybody who was ready to get “trippy” and started off with openers such as REi, Jarren Benton, Scapegoat Jones & the Wun Manband as well as Cali newcomer, Chuwee.
Freddie Gibbs performed a couple of fan favorites off of his Cold Day in Hell mixtape like “Rob Me a N!gga” and “Menace II Society” featuring Dom. The west coast representer, Dom Kennedy showed out with his cult classics such as “1997” and “Grindin'”, but of course the award for performer who rocked the crowd the hardest goes to none other than Juicy J. The crowd went crazy as his set included a mix of old school Three Six joints such as”Slob on my Knob” and some of that new-new like “A Zip and a Double Cup”. All of the craziness was hosted by Maurice Garland, check out his recap video below and pics courtesy of Ashley Lima.
