Rapper Wyclef Jean’s book entitled Purpose: An Immigrant’s Story is set to release today, September 18th however, prior to its’ debut it has already started a buzz. According to Amazon’s book description, the Haitian-born Brooklyn-raised rapper uses “Purpose” to detail ” for the first time ever the inside story of the group [the Fugees]: their rise and fall, and his relationships with Pras and [especially] Lauryn Hill…Wyclef also looks back with candor at the catastrophic earthquake that struck Haiti in 2010.”

Purpose: An Immigrant’s Story has already been noted as a compelling novel packed with inspiration, drama and humor. The “revered musical icon’s” most shocking confession…

“In that moment something died between us. I was married and Lauryn and I were having an affair, but she led me to believe that the baby was mine, and I couldn’t forgive that,” Jean writes in Purpose”, “She could not longer be my muse,” he wrote. “Our love spell was broken.”

Apparently Jean is calling Ms. Lauryn Hill out for tricking him into being her “baby-daddy” until the baby was born. Wyclef claims it was when the baby was born he found out it was actually Rohan Marley’s child and not his. The rapper also blames Hill for the group’s break-up. Should he have used Purpose” as the outlet to air his dirty laundry and be seemingly, completely honest about “personal matters?” We would argue Jean was ready to call “911” when he found he wasn’t the father of Hill’s oldest son, Zion Marley.
