Kanye West could be close to inking a huge management deal with one of the biggest names in the music industry. Reports that Lyor Cohen is closing in on a deal to manage the superstar rapper/producer. According to several outlets, Cohen would not be replacing West’s current manager, Izvor “Izzy” Zivkovic. Instead, there will be some sort of management team involved with Cohen as the head.
There hasn’t been a public comment by Kanye or Cohen, so it is unclear how much of this is speculative and how much is likely going to happen. More details as this story develops. Lyor just left his position at Warner Brothers, so he certainly has time on his hands, and Cohen has been a big influence in the career of Ye’s big brother, Jay-Z so I can see where this could work. It would be a huge deal for Ye and Lyor. We’ll see how this goes and will keep you posted as details emerge.
