If anybody knows how to work a Twitter beef and turn it in their favor, it’s your girl, Azealia Banks. Billboard is reporting that her album sales have gone up since the Twitter beef between her and fellow female emcee, Angel Haze started last week. The beef between the two then turned into a feud between Banks and openly gay blogger, Perez Hilton after she called him a “f-ggot”.
Banks’ latest EP, 1991, saw a jump in sales of 18% while, her single “212” had a 3% increase in downloads. Azealia’s upcoming album, Broke With Expensive Taste is slated for a 2013 release, so we’ll see if she can keep the beef momentum going until then.
Azealia Amanda Banks is an American rapper and singer. Originally from Harlem, New York, Banks at a young age pursued an interest in musical theater before eventually becoming interested in a career as a recording artist. Clearly with her brash style and no holds bar approach to rapping, she has already got people whispering that she is next up to snatch the crown from her queen’s New York nemesis Nicki Minaj.
