Less than a week after her untimely death, funeral services have been announced for the late Patti Webster, and will take place next weekend at the Shiloh Pentecostal Church in Somerville, New Jersey.
An industry icon and publicist to the stars, Webster passed away last Friday (September 13) after succumbing to brain cancer at a hospital in Somerville, N.J. She was 49 years old.
As the founder of W&W Public Relations, Patti represented a long list of celebrities across a wide array of fields, from Halle Berry to Dwight Howard to Ciara to Usher to Steve Harvey and more.
“Cookie and I want to send our condolences to the family and friends of Patti Webster as she lost her battle with cancer today,” NBA legend and entrepreneur Magic Johnson noted from his Twitter account on Friday after hearing the tragic news. “Patti Webster was a sensational publicist who I have much respect for,” he also wrote.
For 30 years, Webster not only worked diligently and selflessly in becoming a highly sought after publicist and brand strategist in the entertainment and sports arenas, she also strived to match that work ethic in her personal life, inspiring every single person she came in contact with over the years.
“I’m not sure how to even post this, but i just landed in Vegas and i got the sad news that Patti Webster passed away last night due to complications from cancer,” wrote Webster’s longtime friend and client Jermaine Dupri on Twitter. “For those who did not have the pleasure of meeting Patti, let me just say this, she’s the reason why the world knows me and everything about SO SO DEF, and as a person one the smartest, professional, fun, loving people i’ve ever been around,” he added.
BET’s 106 & Park host and rapper Bow Wow had this to say on his facebook page;
Patti patti im not going to cry or talk about sad times i know u looking down and i can hear you say “booooooy” hahaha u were the best publicist i ever had! I remember being at my photo shoots and just messing w/ you all the time. Oh not to mention ima miss my NBA tickets too (inside joke) you kept me and got me everything a celeb could ask for.
