Jay Z is unmistakably the King of Hip Hop. The rapper has done it again with the announcement of 9 Grammy nominations and from the looks of things, he will likely bag most of them.

Everyone’s been waiting at the edge of their seats anticipating December 6th to hear the nominees for the 2014 Grammy Awards and, at last, they are in! The list of nominees were announced Friday night during the concert event Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! Countdown To Music’s Biggest Night. Here, we see all sorts of fabulous faces in the nominees this year, and some we don’t…take a look.

    Kanye West

Kanye West’s “New Slaves” received a nomination for Best Rap Song and his album Yeezus, too, makes the cut for this year’s Best Rap Album. It did not however get nominated for Album of the Year. We also see Kendrick Lamar and Pharrell take home big earns each scoring seven nominations.

    Jay Z and Justin

Although Justin Timberlake did not take home a nomination for his album The 20/20 Experience and two hit singles, “Suit and Tie” and “Mirrors”, the artist still racked up seven nominations, including Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Suit and Tie”, in which he shared with Jay Z. So let’s just say those two didn’t lose any sleep that night.

Jay Z dropped his 2013 Magna Carta Holy Grail album and took the lead reeling in nine nominations for this year’s 2014 Grammy Awards. The rapper, however, did not make it into the so-called Big Three categories such as Song of the Year, Album of the Year, or Record of the Year, but he says himself that it’s not to his surprise as he deems MCHG not to be one of his best body of works.

    Miley Cyrus

And if that wasn’t jaw-dropping enough, surprisingly, southern belle Miley Cyrus’s chart-topping hits “We Can’t Stop” and “Wrecking Ball” did not make the nominees this year for any awards, and neither did other incredibly talented artists like Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and many others.

So as we can see, we’ll probably be picking our jaws up off the floor by the end of the show.

The 2014 Grammy Awards takes place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, where we can expect to see thousands upon thousands of A-list guests come out and attend the worldwide event. Initially the show was set to premiere much earlier, but to avoid schedule conflictions, we plan to bring in the new year with its debut in January. So whether you’re sitting amongst the finest celebrities in the audience, or watching from that cozy sofa of yours at home, everyone will be tuned into this amazing show! The 56th Annual Grammy Awards will appear January 26,2014 on CBS, 8 o’clock sharp, you don’t want to miss it!
