Uh-Oh! Reporter Mistakes Samuel L Jackson For Laurence Fishburne In Interview

KTLA anchor Sam Rubin was pretty embarrassed this morning after confusing Samuel L Jackson for Laurence Fishburne. Samuel L was being interviewed for his participation in the upcoming movie RoboCop. During the live interview, Rubin asked Jackson what kind of reaction he had received after his Super Bowl commercial. Jackson’s response: “What Super Bowl commercial?” then came the awkward silence as Rubin realized the mistake that he made. The seasoned reporter tried to brush it off and move on to the next question but Samuel L refused to let him off the hook lightly.

Jackson continued by jabbing his finger at the camera and scolding: “I am not Laurence Fishburne!” “We may be black and famous, but we all don’t look alike.” followed by a sarcastic: “You’re the entertainment reporter for this station?” A flustered Rubin eventually managed to steer the interview back on course to Jackson’s latest film RoboCop. Yet Jackson couldn’t resist leaving Rubin with some parting advice for his upcoming interview with the rest of the RoboCop cast: “Do some research. Make sure you don’t confuse them with those other white actors that are out there.” Talk about awkward!
