B.o.B. caught a little heat this week when he pointed out some truths via Twitter regarding the reactions to the  Mike Brown shooting in Ferguson, Missouri which he’s now since deleted. The Decatur MC tweeted, “So Antwon will shoot 12 people in a week and [y’all] be like ‘Free Twon!’ a cop shoot a n–a and y’all riot…ok…#facts.”  While B.o.B wasn’t making light of the tragic incident, he was holding a mirror to the face of Black people that we have to be held accountable as well. To further prove his point, he just released the song “New Black” which addresses the Brown shooting as well as Black-on-Black crime and offers some serious solutions for our people to uplift ourselves. The Hustle Gang MC’s introspective bars include,

“Cause as soon as you see n*****s get to fighting, you be the first mother*****r wanna yell out World Star/ Can’t nobody else touch a n***a, but it’s cool for a brother to just bust a n***a/ Guns sold in every hood, he’ll slay a dozen n****s/ Gone kill yourself, while you’re at it, take a couple with you/ And that don’t justify the cop s**t, I’m just on some Black mob  s**t/ The best way to protest, hit ‘em where it hurts…their pockets/ It’s time to boycott s**t.”

Now this is one that definitely needs to permeate airwaves across all genres. Peep the heat for yourself.
