In a horrible tragedy it’s been confirmed that Canadian actress Stephanie Moseley, star of VH1’s Hit the Floor, was found dead Monday morning in what authorities are speculating was a murder-suicide. Police found Moseley’s body next to her rapper husband Earl Hayes who was also signed to Floyd Mayweather’s Philthy Rich Records.
Early yesterday morning residents of the apartment complex Moseley lived in heard a women scream and gunshots. SWAT teams responded to the 911 call and kicked in the door of the unit residents said they heard the shots come from. When SWAT attempted to open a rear bedroom door they heard two more gunshots.
Details are still unclear what role Moseley and Hayes played in the shooting death. Sources close to both claim Hayes had accused Moseley of cheating on him with a known singer and they were breaking up. This is a tragedy and another example of heartache causing terrible acts.
HHE’s Dennis Byron spoke exclusively with former General Manager of Philthy Rich Records Tasha Robinson-White and she shared some of her experiences working with Earl Hayes:
I was deeply sadden when I heard the news about Earl Hayes, he was such a great talent. So many thoughts went through my mind….Whenever I was around Earl he was always full of smiles and laughter. Last I heard which was just a couple days prior to his death, he was recording in the studio working on a TMT compilation with the up & coming rapper Lil Jamez. I will never forget our trip to Puerto Rico for the Mix Show Power Summit. Hayes was signed to Philthy Rich Records at that time. His outgoing personality held its own on that trip. My condolences go out to both families.
He is also mentioned in her newly released autobiography, Right Hand to The Champ.”
Some media outlets have reported that Hayes was the son of musical great Isaac Hayes however his actual son, Atlanta music producer Isaac Hayes, III took to his twitter page to debunk that false rumor.
Rest in Peace to them both.
