It seems like younger fans are curious about the original song that was copied by Pharrell and Robin Thicke after the trial. The two were ordered to pay the family of legendary singer Marvin Gaye 7.3 million dollars after the heavily copied 2013 single “Blurred Lines” went viral.

According to  Billboard, Marvin Gaye’s album sales went up after the “Blurred Lines” trial. The 2009 greatest hits album “Number 1’s” debuted at the 200 chart this week. The album features the iconic song “Got To Give It Up Pt. 1,” the song that Gaye’s family said was wrongfully sampled on “Blurred Lines, also is featured on the album. “Got To Give It Up” sold over 10,000 downloads for the week and a 246% rise, making it its largest sales week at No.18.

This is Marvin Gaye’s first in over a decade on the Top 200 chart.
