Taking quotes from popular rap songs, artist creates street signs and placing them at the physical locations referenced in the music, all over the country. The “Rap Quotes” project is one of the best hip hop street projects of all time, and now viewers get to see his latest installment in Atlanta.
Having already installed signs in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and New York, Jay Shells takes a trip to the culture’s most important cities. Armed with rap quotes by Canibus, Andre 3000, Killer Mike, Bubba Sparxxx, Big Gip, Jermaine Dupri, and others, the artist and his team also hit key places like the waffle house, strip clubs, and more while in town.

“The plan has always been to get all the major cities in the U.S. represented,” said Shells about his latest trek down south. “Atlanta has such a rich and vibrant hip hop culture, it was a must to get down there as soon as I could and the fine folks from the A3C Festival helped to get us down there and showed us a great time.” Shells says he plans to go back in October and add some more lyrics that he missed the first time around.
