After getting his start producing for Lil Wayne and others, 2 time Grammy Nominated producer Yonni is back releasing his debut song “And 1” which will be featured on his project If I Want To.
Having earned his stripes producing on Trey Songz hit song “Say Ahhh” and having worked with Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Jeremih and many others, Yonni is no rookie to the game and his “And 1” song along with his discography proves that.
“I’ve been in the game for like 10 years and started out known as Young Yonni. I was producer for a few big artists over the years. I’ve been Grammy nominated and been on 106& Park. Some of the artists I produced for are Wayne, Bieber, Nicki, Trey Songz, Jeremih, Trina, Lil Mo, Dipset (Jim Jones, Hell Rell) and Mya just to name a few, but I’ve been doing this for a minute,” Yonni explained.
Also earning a Grammy nomination on Sean Paul’s last project Frequency, Yonni is coming from behind the scenes and he’s starting to get more recognition for his work as an accomplished producer that can also rap and sing.
“This is like a Dr. Dre Chronic or a Timbaland Shock Value, this is an embodiment of what I bring to the table as a producer. I help some of the artists come up with the songwriting and these one I came up with lyrics on my own and then I A&R’d song for people. Its called ‘If I Want To.’ I may rap on the hook like the Nick Cannon song or I may sing as on the Mya song.”
Currently Yonni operates a studio in North Hollywood that is frequently filled with top billed talent and he’s planning on opening other in the coming weeks.
“I was working two jobs until “Say Ahhhh” was released and that changed my life and it enabled me to move to LA and since then I’ve just been working. I feel like third time is a charm for the Grammy’s. I’ve been about 10 times I just go to network every year or every other year. Only God knows what the next one will be,” Yonni said.
