We have just received some disappointing news that the mother of legendary slain rapper Tupac Shukur was arrested in her hometown of Lumberton.
Afeni Shukur was recently pulled over during a traffic stop for possession of marijuana which is a felony in North Carolina. She was also charged with simple possession of a controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance. Shakur, a former Black Panther Party member also founded the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation for students interested in the performing arts.

My opinion is that these are frivolous charges in light of the fact that marijuana will probably be legal in most states within a few years.
She is currently free on a $10,000 bond and is presumed.
We hope it works out for her as she has done so much for the community and although two wrongs don’t make a right, our past three Presidents of the United States have admitted smoking marijuana during their earlier years prior to taking office. Heck, I actually smoked marijuana while in junior high school and I was even on the honor roll.
