The Songwriters Hall Of Fame Graces Jermaine Dupri with Hip Hop 2018 Prestigious Award

    The Songwriters Hall of Fame has introduced their list of inductees. 45-yr-0ld Atlanta native, Jermaine Dupri #MrSOSoDef has made a major mark in hip-hop again as one of the new inductees. June 14, 2018, he will be honored along with a few other heavyweights in the music industry. Dupri is the second hip-hop artist to be recognized by the Songwriters Hall Of Fame, last year it was Jay-Z.

    Just to name a few Dupri is the winner of the Soul Train Music Award for Quincy Jones Award – Career Achievement, BET Hip Hop Award for Best Producer of the Year, NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Album. Being acknowledged by the Songwriters Hall of Fame is another award that Dupri can add to his list of achievements.

    Grammy award winner Dupri has worked with music icons such as Usher, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Xscape and the list goes on. Some major hits he wrote are “You got it bad” (Usher), Jump” (Kriss Kross), Shake It Off” (Mariah Carey), My Boo” (Usher featuring  Alicia Keys), “Grillz” ( Nelly featuring Paul Wall), “Money Aint  A Thang” (Jermaine Dupri feat Jay Z), and “Where The Party At” Jagged Edge, just to name a few. Dupri has been putting in work and shaping the hip-hop industry since the 1990s to now with his show “The Rap Game” on Lifetime.

    “The Rap Game” is in its fourth season. This show consists of five young rappers from all aspects of life, presented with daily contests to battle it out for the ultimate prize of a recording contract with Dupri, So So Def Recordings. Dupri is still using his platform to sculpt today’s artist. Jermaine Dupri is meritorious by the Songwriters Hall Of Fame, actually, it has been a long time in coming.
