VH1’s Love & Hip Hop Get the Green Light for Season 2

    VH1 has announced that it has ordered a second season of its reality series “Love and Hip Hop” The show follows the lives of women who either have career in hip hop, or are in a relationship with someone who does.

    “Love & Hip Hop” was one of the most watched shows on the network during the season, averaging over 1 million total viewers per episode. The reunion special, which aired on Monday, May 16th, had 1.3 million total viewers.

    The original cast members who are Jim Jones’ girlfriend Chrissy Lampkin, singer Olivia Longott, rapper Fabolous’ girlfriend Emily Bustamante and emerging rapper Somaya “Boss” Reece are all scheduled to return for season 2 of the reality show.

    VH1 has also ordered a second series of the reality series “Mob Wives.”

    “Both ‘Mob Wives’ and ‘Love & Hip Hop’ are smash hits for VH1, generating strong buzz and viewership for months now,” said Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President of Original Programming & Production, VH1.

    “Our viewers have connected passionately with these women and their unique, authentic stories in the realms of pop culture and music,” Olde continued. “We’re very happy to be able continue those storylines.”

    The 10 one-hour episodes for season two of “Love & Hip-Hop,” will premiere this fall.
