Yesterday on the Wendy Williams Show, Common made an appearance to promote his autobiography, One Day It’ll All Make Sense which hit stands yesterday. The Chicago rapper finally opened up about his breakup with Erykah Badu and his current relationship with Serena Williams. See what Common had to say inside.
“She handed it to me. I was in my hotel room on tour and …she called me and was like, ‘Hey, I don’t wanna be in this relationship no more. I’m liking somebody else. That was my first love and my first heartbreak,” said Common referring to soulful songstress, Erykah Badu. “That taught me a lot of things, and when it happened I kinda really got into myself and really learned about myself and I was able to move on, and now me and E is real cool.”
After describing the type of woman he likes, Wendy then asked if Serena fit that description and he replied “Serena is definitely that. She embodies everything I just mentioned.” Common stated at the end, that as of right now, he and Serena are just friends.
