Mickey Shiloh has spent most of her young life with a paper and pen writing for other award-winning artists, but now she is ready for her turn in the spotlight.

Born Michaela Shiloh, the songwriter, singer, rapper and artist has made a name for herself in the music industry. Known for her swift songwriting and unparalleled vocals, Mickey Shiloh has been waiting for this day since the age of 7.

In the summer of 2007, Mickey Shiloh connected with producer Chad Beatz through MySpace and they began working together for the next two years. In 2009, she co-wrote the very successful song leak “B*tch I’m Special” by Rihanna with Chad Beatz which received hundreds of thousands of hits on YouTube within days.

It wasn’t too long after that she was fortunate enough to meet Grammy-award winning producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins in February of 2009. Admiring of her unique style and skills, Rodney signed Mickey Shiloh as an artist and songwriter to Darkchild Records in June 2009. Mickey Shiloh landed her first placement with the co-writing of Janet Jackson’s 2009 single “Make Me”.

Instead of partying like every other senior during their last year of high school, Mickey Shiloh stayed at home many nights and recorded into the early hours. Whenever she had a break from school, even if it was just a three-day weekend, she would fly to Los Angeles and work with Rodney and his team. Her latest placement is “Don’t Keep Me Waiting”, which appears on the 2011 Britney Spears’ album Femme Fatale.

Now, at 19 years old and her first year of college at USC under her belt, Mickey Shiloh is ready for the world to grow with her as an artist with her upcoming mix tape, Dear Future. The mix tape is set to release in July 2011 and will include all original songs exemplifying Mickey Shiloh the artist. With a goal to be known for her music and the authenticity of her lyrics, Mickey Shiloh wants to grow with her fans and discuss topics that are real and current within her age group.

“I was sitting in my room one day thinking about my future. I thought of the concept what if I could write to my future? What would I say?,” says Shiloh.

For inspiration, Mickey asked close industry colleagues to write one thing they would write to their future. From the info she received, it provided her with a creative vision on how she should approach the mix tape, Dear Future. To illustrate her journey and inspiration, Shiloh plans on including the information she received in the booklet of her mix tape cover.

“As an artist I want to grow with people,” says Shiloh. “I’m in college and want to talk about what we college kids and high school kids are going through. We drink, we party, we have sex and we fall in love. There is an absence of artists that speak about these things…I just want to be real.”

On her journey as an artist she aspires to be the voice of the young people and share her energetic personality with the world through her original music. Dear Future is set to release July 25, 2011 and will feature six of her original songs.
