Breaking: Rapper Tekashi69 and Crew Arrested on Federal Racketeering Charges

0

Federal agents have arrested Daniel Hernandez aka Brooklyn rapper Tekashi 69 along with his former manager Shottie and bodyguard Faheem Walter on federal racketeering charges.  Walter was previously charged with gang violence last week as a result of a shooting that occurred during a #FreeTekashi celebration in New York City.

The timing of the arrest and the recent announcement by Tekashi that he has fired his entire team could all be a coincidence or perhaps the rapper was trying to distance himself from all the drama his crew brings. Whatever the case, federal agents consisting of ATF, Homeland Security and NY’s hip hop police decided that there was enough evidence to arrest his crew.

“A spokesman for Manhattan U.S. Attorney said Tekashi, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was busted along with three others, Kifano (Shotti) Jordan, Jensel (Ish) Butler and Faheem (Crippy) Walter.”

This recent arrest will likely trigger state probation charges for Hernandez as the judge in his previous sexual assault case made it clear to the rapper that he must stay clear of trouble.

The rapper will be formally be arraigned this afternoon in NY Federal court. This is a developing story.

New Music Alert: Izzy Strange – “Izzy Duz it”

0
Three months prior to “Izzy Duz It”, a single surfaced from Strange featuring Blu and a rising singer out of Izzy’s hometown, Sara Fox. Titled “Just Me”, the soulfully charged Mayeniac & Leauxfi production found the trio speaking on standing on your own two feet. Then in late September, Izzy returned with the chilling tales of “Halfway Crooks” alongside Mick Jenkins and a ghastly Nate Fox instrumental. Shortly after, the news of “Izzy Duz It” was announced along with news of the aforementioned singles being added in to the mix.
With expectations set extremely high for his third album, “The Die Is Cast”, the songwriter found himself within a deep creation zone this past summer. In between brainstorming sessions for the album, he would scowl thru beats on YouTube. After venting over a few tracks, Strange was inspired to create a mixtape to continue the strong momentum he’s amassed over the past couple of years.
The mixtape features Mick Jenkins, Blu, Nacho Picasso, Tedy Andreas and Sara Fox. Production was carried out by Nate Fox (Chance the Rapper), Casa Nada, Fravo, Free Beatz, Bliss, Kenneth English, Pax Orbis, Ill Noise, FIEND, Emani, Mayeniac & LeauxFi. “Izzy Duz It” is a free mixtape available to download solely on Soundcloud. Stay tuned for accompanying videos to surface in the coming times.

New Music Alert: Myles Lloyd – “I Want It All”

0

Canadian singer MYLES LLOYD is known for mixing soulful melodies with a R&B/POP flavor and now he’s breaking out with his new song, “I WANT IT ALL.” Adding to the allure of the song, MYLES LLOYD connected with Bryson Tiller’s creative director Chase Ichiki for the artwork.

After breaking on to the scene with his song, “STEP DOWN,” which achieved hundreds of thousands of views without any promotion on Soundcloud, YouTube, Spotify and other platforms, MYLES LLOYD returns with a new song that has a deeper meaning than you would initially assume with a materialistic sounding song title like, “I WANT IT ALL.”

But according to MYLES LLOYD, “I WANT IT ALL is not a song about how I want cars, nice things, women or any mainstream want that everyone thinks is needed to be happy. The deeper meaning can be found at the end of the song when I say that I don’t want to party and do all the crazy things kids my age do because in the end I’ll just be delaying my goal, which is having self-happiness and stability in my life. I’m telling people I WANT IT ALL right now, so let me do what I have to do to focus now and we’ll talk later.”

Finding musical inspiration at the age of 18 with his best friend frnchhmwrk, the two began to explore different sounds and melodies, singing and practicing at a local hookah spot.

“He’s all about creating vibes and giving out sounds that really make people feel,” Ryon Simon co-founder of Lode Star Records explained. “He’s working with his long time best friend/producer frnch//hmwrk who has really helped him create his sound as he embarks his way into the music scene, and we have some really big installations planned for him.”

With plans to continue to release music through the end of the year, MYLES LLOYD is anticipating the release of an album in the second quarter of 2019 with Lode Star Records.
