A Musical Reflection of Slim Dunkin

0

It’s hard to grasp the concept of “one day you’re here then the next day you’re gone” until someone close to you actually leaves this world.  Those in the circle of Slim Dunkin have to cope with that concept for the rest of their days. Airwaves and online publications have been ablaze with the news of the 24 year old rapper’s death in an Atlanta studio Friday evening. Here at HHE we would like to highlight the musical talent this young man was blessed with.

Dunkin was a polarizing figure. Standing at 6-8 along the 6-4 Waka Flocka Flame, the two were known as the Twin Towers (Hence the name of the mixtape series).

“I don’t have amazing lyrical ability I just know how to speak on what I been through and where I came from,” he said. Asked what to expect from him in 2011, he responded: “Music, music, and music!”

Slim lacked the lyrical ability that hip hop heads fiend for, but his delivery and honesty along with his graphic stories landed him in the on deck circle for the Bricksquad imprint.  He gained attention when the first Twin Towers tape was released with DJ Ace featuring “Same S***” which spread through the streets and clubs instantly. Between Oj Da Juiceman falling back from music and Waka Flocka becoming internationally successful, Slim made it his duty to be one of the premier artists in 2012. He was on his way.

Those close to Slim said he was dedicated to becoming successful, and hoped to make everyone around him proud to be affiliated with his movement. With that said, we have to take a look into the reality of violence and its relationship to music. True, this was not a publicized beef with another rapper, but a young man who had the opportunity to influence and reach lot of people but ultimately ended up losing his life. The lyrics rappers released from their songs don’t always implement their lifestyle, though in this case Slim’s did. While artists that live their lyrics are a rare commodity in modern day hip hop, there is a plethora of artists who act like like Slim Dunkin through a fantasy world. The only lesson that can be learned through this accident for upcoming artists is that the music you make should be the life you live. The only problem with that lesson is when your music and your life cross paths hopefully it never ends like it did for Slim Dunkin. HHE shares their thoughts and prayers with Slim Dunkin’s friends and family.

Did Someone Order The Kobe Special? Vanessa Bryant Files For Divorce

0
"I'm quittin' yo *ss!"

Tired of the infidelity rumors and having to do random d*ck sniff checks at night before bed, Vanessa Bryant is flushing her marriage to NBA star Kobe Bryant down the toilet like yesterday’s used condom. After ten years of marriage, 2 children and an $2milli ‘I’m sowwy’ diamond ring Vanessa is tired of dealing with Kobe’s cheating ways and filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences” Friday afternoon.

Vanessa must have graduated from the school of ‘Get Rich B*tch by Shaunie O’Neal and Elin Nordegren because chick is about to come off with half of everything as stated by Californialaw since there was no pre-nup. Feel free to insert your ‘WTF’ side-eyes at Kobe here! Somewhere right now, Kris Jenner is offering Kim Kardashian’s vagina for Kobe to lean on/in for comfort! Merry Christmas to you indeed Vanessa! With a choke hold grip on his balls and his finances, we hope this doesn’t affect the L.A. Lakers’ come game day.

Fashion Highlight!! All Eyes On The Future!

Future

Who says denims’ have to match? Atlanta based rapper Future was one of the many heavy hitters in ATL the other night to support Kanye protege Big Sean on the last stop of his “I Am Finally Famous” tour sponsored by Grey Gooses’ Rising Icons. Now before some of you chase after me with pitch forks and torches let me just say that I actually like the look. Yes, it may seem appear as though he was wearing his shades when he got dressed with the lights off, but somehow it came together quite nicely.

The LA fitted worn with patched denim vest over distressed denim adds a multidimensional effect. The outfit is completed with what can be mistaken for the Christian Louboutin tartan rollerboy spikes. Altogether the look is dope!

Also in attendance was Dj Greg Street, T.I., Young Jeezy, Big Sean, and Kenny Burns. Big shout out to Atlanta’s own Prince Will who captured all the action! view the pics below!

Breaking News Exclusive!! Brick Squad Artist Slim Dunkin Killed Over Argument About Candy!!

0

We have just learned that Slim Dunkin, 24 year old, Atlanta rapper and affiliate of rappers Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka  was shot and killed at an Atlanta recording studio last night while on the set of Gucci Mane’s video shoot. In a bizarre twist of events, sources close to him claim that Gucci Mane was allegedly on set with Slim Dunkin but fled the scene right after the shooting.

Slim Dunkin, whose real name is Mario Hamilton got into an altercation with an unindentified person over what our source stated was merely about a piece of candy. According to our source, the shooter then pulled out an automatic weapon and fired one shot before fleeing the scene. Hamilton was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital and as a result he died of his injuries.

One of our sources had this to say ” We had just finished shooting a scene and was heading to the next location when we got word that Slim was shot, I am just so devastated about what has happened. To get killed over candy is just so sad and tragic”.

Police have yet to make an arrest but we are told that the shooter was someone known to individuals on the set.

“Now it’s my understanding prior to the video shoot, Mr. Hamilton became involved in a verbal altercation with another individual who we believe produced a handgun, discharged that weapon at least one time, striking Mr. Hamilton in the chest,” Major Keith Meadows with the Atlanta Police Department said.

As of press time, there was no word of a memorial service in honor of the slain rapper. This is a developing story so check back for updates throughout the day.

Slim Dunkin and Waka Flocka had just released their collaboration mixtape titled Twin Towers 2 back in August hosted by DJ Teknikz.

New Video: Wale – Chain Music

0

The district has been well represented with Wale’s presence on the charts. His sophomore album Ambition has been the soundtrack for love seekers and lust seekers alike. Although Wale has been living on the radio with singles like “Lotus Flower Bomb”, it’s about time for another track off the album to make news. The Rik Cordero-directed video for “Chain Music”  shows Wale’s “humble” side (when he was broke) and the “Geechi” side (now that he’s rich) and how people react to him whether it’s a car dealer or a hot model. The video also features Wale surrounded by chains as he complains about girls who are checking for him now that he’s wearing gaudy jewelry, opposed to his lack thereof when he was on the come up. Check it out below.
