VIDEO: Bow Wow Brings Out Machine Gun Kelly & Chip da Ripper for Cleveland Show

0

Looks like Bow Wow is campaigning to be the official “Ohio Ambassador of Music “, a position we just completely made up. Bow Wow did a show in Cleveland last night, for Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E. Tour and we must say, he earned a couple of cool points with the move he pulled on stage. Fresh off of touring in Japan, Bow Wow brought out  Cleveland’s own Machine Gun Kelly and Chip da Ripper to show some Ohio Love.

After a brief prayer circle with Machine Gun Kelly and Chip, Bow Wow stated “We all from the same state, We all rocking together”. Machine Gun Kelly later tweeted  “That was so humbling. @BowWow just brought me and @chip216 out for our first time on stage together right here in Cleveland. LACE UP!!”.

Also, if you didn’t know, Bow Wow is now signed to Cash Money so it looks like he’s doing a complete career overhaul. Bow Wow’s latest album , Underrated is set to release December 6th.

Just in case you missed this!!! BET to Webbie: Your Kind Aint Welcome Here No More!

Have a seat on the bench behind you sir. Because you are no longer allowed on the couch.

For those of you who were looking forward to southern rapper Webbie‘s next visit on 106th & Park you also can have a seat on the bench next to him. Its been reported that after being one of the guest judges for Freestyle Friday, Webster Gradney Jr. must’ve whispered something in the ear of show host Rocsi to her dismay.

Maybe he offered to show and prove what he declared to the world on the Hip Hop Awards red carpet. And just like the big bad wolf that Rocsi is, she huffed and puffed and blew a kiss goodbye to any further invitations for Webbie to be on the show.  Apparently, what ever he said to Rocsi didn’t sit well with co-host Terrence J either. Watch the brief clip below and let us know what you think. Will you miss not seeing Webbie on 106th & Park anymore?

…And don’t come back!

HHE Album Review: Wale – Ambition

0

Grade: Lyrics: A-  Flow: B+ Beats: B- Originality: A- Overall: B –

Wale’s Ambition is similar to an abused step child. Once placed with a family that can show true appreciation for the child’s skills, the child can shine like it’s supposed to. This is referenced to Wale’s situation of the release of his debut album Attention Deficit with Interscope records in 2009.  Wale went on record saying that the label did not give him the opportunity to make the music he dreamed of recording.  Like a runaway child, Wale found his home with Rick Ross’s Maybach Music imprint under the Warner Brothers umbrella.  To Wale’s defense, his debut wasn’t bad at all, it simply lacked record sales and industry buzz. His sophomore effort however, is something that fans new or old will love.

Washington D.C.’s golden child has always been acclaimed for his lyricism which covers nontraditional hip hop topics like relationships and social status, as well as the everyday grind to make ends meet.  The album opens with “Don’t Hold Your Applause” which proves Wale woke up on the right side of the bed that day. On this track, Wale separates himself from his other industry counterparts over a high school band snare produced by Tone P & Chris Barz. The background vocals compliment the amount of soul Wale lends to the track. This lets the listener know that this album is for the fans versus a half way effort of self gain. The following track“ Double M Genius” begins with Wale commenting on his trait of being one of the best thinkers in the rap game now. His boasting is backed by the opening line “Im’a let the chips fall/ n*****s is Kemba Walker tryna see me Pitt fall”. For those who are lost, he is referencing Uconn graduate and NBA rookie  Kemba Walker’s game winning shot ending UPitts’s NCAA tournament run.

This man is somewhat of a monster when it comes to sports references and word play, unlike other newcomers in the game today. On “Miami Nights” produced by Miami legends Cool & Dre , Wale narrates his escapades in Miami’s Overtown section (Rick Ross’s neighborhood) and the comfort he has while in company of the self proclaimed “Boss”. “Legendary” produced by T.I. and Young Jeezy’s go-to producer Dj Toomp, is a gem on the album. The beat is nothing short of expectations of Toomp with the crisp snare and wedding band horns that compliment the vibe of the whole album.

The biggest surprise on the album is “Focused” featuring G.O.O.D. Music’s Kid Cudi. This track was a shocker due the rumors of Wale and Cudi not speaking for over a year for debatable reasons. For the fan’s benefit, the two artists got back together and created a hit that will be popular at any nightclub where movement of the body is acceptable.  Cudi kills the hook as usual, while Wale adds substance, reason, flow and wordplay. No Days Offproduced by “The Bizness” rounds off the end of the album giving Wale a chance to elaborate on his popular slogan. This track is worthy of trending topic on Twitter as well as a soundtrack for any fan who is grinding daily. Wale makes the topic clear, backing it up with syllable scheme rhymes like No days off! No days off!Heard they coming for a n*****, B**** I’m Ray Charles/ No days off! Takin’ breaks will leave you broken And we can’t fall/ No days off! No days off”!  Singles like” Lotus Flower Bomb” featuring Miguel, and “That Way” with Jeremih and Rick Ross will live on the radio over the next few months, giving the album mainstream success. This is critical to Wale since his first effort lacked that kind of  nationwide radio play.

Wale has his own sound, a trait taken for granted and not recognized in today’s hip hop world. Although the album lacks the production that will make you bounce all day long, the beats do give a humble vibe. That vibe will make this album one to keep in rotation for a while, especially during the current “Boo” season. Who knows? After a listen or two, one might gain the ambition to conquer the attention deficit problem which  limits young fans from grasping the wittiness of Maybach Music’s  A&R.

During one of the night’s performances, our boy Ye’ came out on stage wearing a new colorway for the Air Yeezys. Look closely and you can spot a dash of pink on the upper portion of the shoe. Mr. West was def in the building that night!  #dope.  Click below to view a couple more pics.  I’ll apologize in advance for the blurry one but pretty provocative if you ask me.

Shocking Video!! South Carolina State Trooper Throws Women from Car During Traffic Stop

0

A South Carolina Sheriff deputy learned the hard way that man handling a woman during a routine traffic stop is the quickest way to get an early retirement. This video should be shown in every police academy across the nation as this type of behavior should not be accepted from the people we pay to serve and to protect.

Not sure how this move is going to pan out for Akon and his Konvict Music imprint, but the music mogul just recently signed Gospel rapper, Mali Music to Konvict.  “He’s a mogul. He’s done so much and it’s just a blessing that he was affected and impacted by the ministry and by the songs.” said Mali Music about Akon. Mali Music’s first release is supposed to be released some time during the first quarter of 2012. Mixtape Mashup: Downloads of the Week.. Freddie Gibbs, ASAP Rocky & Jim Jones

0
Freddie Gibbs, ASAP Rocky & Jim Jones

What do Hip Hop veteran Jim Jones, one of XXL Mag’s 2010 Freshmen, Freddie Gibbs and frontman of Harlem’s ASAP crew, ASAP Rocky all have in common? Mixtapes! They all dropped mixtapes this week, and it’s only Tuesday. Looks like the beginning to a good week. Some are hits, while some are misses. See what we thought over at Hip Hop Enquirer about this week’s mixtape releases.

Freddie Gibbs – Cold Day In Hell

If you appreciate Hip Hop that has a slight feel of ratchetness but still maintains lyricism and quality production then this is gonna be one of your Winter 2011 classics. Freddie Gibbs, the Gary, Indiana native and artist on Young Jeezy’s CTE imprint, dropped Cold Day In Hell yesterday. After getting off work at 2 am last night, I downloaded this with plans to let it marinate in my iTunes a little while before actually listening. Somehow I clicked on the track, “Menace II Society”. Was it because I saw that it featured Dom Kennedy? Maybe. Maybe not. The point is, I ended up listening and the mixtape runs the gamut from the ethereal, yet down to earth “Heaven Can Wait” to the rude, in your face “Neighborhood Hoez” featuring 2 Chainz.

Freddie’s lyrics are humble enough for the average music listener but paint enough of a story  to impress the bougie Hip Hop elitist and the street influenced, industrial-sounding beats speak for themselves. The impressive list of features make this mixtape even more of a must-have, with appearances from Young Jeezy, Scrilla, Dom Kennedy, Juicy J, Freeway, Alley Boy and more.

ASAP Rocky – LiveLoveA$AP

Harlem’s ASAP Rocky who’s bucking the system by rejecting the whole “New York Rapper” label, proves that he can’t be labeled or defined with his mixtape, LiveLoveA$AP. Rocky, whose crew all puts “ASAP” before their name, created a name for himself on the internet, with his track “Purple Swag” that he’s most known for. With LiveLoveA$AP, ASAP Rocky reintroduces himself and you can see his artistic influence from all around the Hip Hop nation from the Southern-sounding “Houston Old Head” to the mellow, easy listening-inspired “Roll One Up”, produced by DJ Burn One. If you’re looking for someone to fill that pre-Black & Yellow Wiz Khalifa void in your music life, ASAP Rocky might be your kid.

Jim Jones – Vampire Life

Not the hugest fan of Jim Jones, and not the hugest fan of his mixtape that just dropped yesterday titled Vampire Life. Except for one or two, the beats don’t do anything for me, and probably won’t do much for you either. As far as lyrics, I find myself mostly tuning out Jim Jones and the few featured artists that appear such as Yo Gotti and Maino. Overall, Vampire Life is boring and not worth downloading but of course, listen for yourself and be the judge. Better luck next time, Jim Jones!

Let us know what you think, or what mixtape you feel should’ve been added.

Some are Crazy & Some are Cooky! How the Stars Dressed on Halloween!

Our own Editor-in-Chief Dennis Byron at Cami-Cakes

No, the above image is not Kris Humphries and all that he’s left with after divorcing Kim Kardashian.  The above photo is of an unrecognizable Heidi Klum in full dead body costume.  The supermodel who once again takes the cake (and every Halloween costume prize there is) for best and most original costume, held her 12th annual Halloween party at TAO nightclub in Las Vegas, NV.

What I love the most is how creative Heidi is with her ideas. With amazing looks and super banger body she could easily go the slutty route like every other Hollywood female does.

Check the pics below to see a round up of other celebs including, Tyson Beckford, Snooki, Kim Kardashian and others at various frightening festivities!

And perhaps the most talked/tweeted about costume was this unidentified youngster as the dread-head rapper in charge of Young Money. The entire web was heard cackling about how cute and adorable this toddler was in his head-to-toe Weezy wear including leopard print jeggings and full body tattoos!

New Music!! Drake ft. Lil Wayne “The Motto”

0

Drake is not letting up with the Take Care promo whirlwind he’s been on. Just yesterday, Young Money’s finest released the official tracklist for Take Care and last night he dropped a new gem featuring Lil Wayne, titled “The Motto.” Besides “Headlines”, pretty much everything we’ve heard so far from Take Care have been the usual mellow, chill beats that Drake fits perfectly on. Not this time though. With “The Motto”, Lil Wayne and Drake spit over an infectious, clubby West Coast beat that’ll have you wanting to go dumb and pull out your best crip walk. They still do that in Cali, right? Anyway, let us know what you think of “The Motto”!

Now Trending… Everybody in Versace Barocco!!!

0
Flo Rida

Ever so often, there comes that one, hot must-have item that makes its way through celebrities like a groupie at a Superbowl party. This time around, said item is the Versace mens silk barocco shirt as worn by Flo Rida (above).  He was spotted wearing the shirt as part of his Young Jeezy costume over the Halloween weekend while hosting & performing at a party at Aria nightclub in Las, Vegas.

Do not attempt to adjust your monitors. If it looks familiar to some of you its because you’ve seen in here on this website worn by another celebrity in a different color.  Drake recently wore the same thing( except in blue) to his 25th birthday celebration at TAO. And not one to be left out, Drake’s less popular label-mate Tyga was recently photographed in a brown version in the pages of Rap-Up magazine.

View the other pics below and let us know what you think. Who wore it best? Is this a trend some of you guys will pick up on?
