Friends and family mourn the death of Nia Wilson, the 18-year-old girl who was viciously stabbed to death by an attacker while she and her sister were leaving the train station in Oakland, California.

The two sisters we leaving the train Sunday night when a  white male identified as 27-year-old transient John Lee Cowell approached the girls and quickly stabbed Nia and her sister  Lahtifa Wilson, 26, both in the neck, police said. The older sister was hospitalized overnight.

“In my close to 30 years of police experience, it was probably one of the most vicious attacks that I’ve seen,” BART Police Chief Carlos Rojas said at a news conference Monday.

Cowell was captured on another BART train about 6:30 p.m. Monday, after at least two passengers tipped off police that they had spotted the suspected killer.

Police Chief Rojas said investigators will interview Cowell soon, but to date still have no details on a potential motive for the crime. Rojas said there was no evidence to support suggestions that the crime was race-related, but police haven’t taken the possibility off the table ruled it out just yet.

Hundreds of people gathered for a vigil Monday evening at MacArthur BART Station, bringing flowers, candles and incense. Some held signs demanding justice for the two sisters.

Daryle Allums, Nia Wilson’s godfather and leader of Oakland’s Stop Killing Our Kids group, said Wilson’s death had shaken up the whole town. He addressed concerns that the attack might be racially motivated and urges the African American community to “stand down right now” and avoid jumping to conclusions.

“We don’t know if this was racist,” Allums said. “Let’s get this information to find out what really happened. Let’s find out the right facts to then be able to deal with this situation.”

The family of Nia Wilson believes her killing was the result of a hate crime and they want the person responsible for her death to pay. Cowell is a convicted felon with a history of violent crimes.  The slaying of Nia Wilson was the third possible homicide connected to BART in just five days. According SFgate.com

In May 2016, Cowell was convicted of felony second-degree robbery, according to court records. That year, a Kaiser hospital in Richmond obtained a restraining order against him after he allegedly repeatedly harassed and threatened staff members with physical harm.

Cowell was homeless and would often show up in the emergency department and make “rather specific” threats, said Jason Curliano, an attorney who represents the hospital.

A separate restraining order was filed against Cowell in 2015, but the circumstances were not immediately available.

Cowell was previously convicted of battery in June 2013, and of being under the influence of a controlled substance in March 2016. Both those incidents happened in Walnut Creek.

He also had several misdemeanor infractions of vandalism, petty theft and possession of a controlled substance on his record, according to Alameda County court records.

Nia’s death is creating a lot of social media attention. Several people touched by her death have created hashtag #JusticeForNia. Nia’s family have set up a GoFundMe page with a goal of raising $9,000. As of print deadline Monday, more than $24,000 have been raised.

Charlamange Tha God had to call up his wife Jessica on the Breakfast Club this morning to clear the air on raping her the first time they had sex.

Charlamange the God is known for saying some of the craziest things we have ever heard on the radio. But we never expected to hear him say he raped his wife. An old interview resurfaced where Charlamagne aka  Lenard McKelvey admitted to raping his wife the first time they had sex. The “Starr Report” posted the audio interview on Twitter last week:

“I keep telling’ y’all. I’ve told y’all this over and over. It’s a lot of things guys did especially when we were young that were rape that we just didn’t consider rape. I’m married to my wife. Me and my wife dated for a whole year, she would not give me no pussy. Me and my wife hung out one Saturday night and she got sloppy drunk and passed out in my momma’s house and I got that pussy. She was f*cking me back and all that but she was really drunk. I asked her yesterday, ‘Yo, did I rape you the first time we ever had sex?’ And she goes, ‘I mean in hindsight, yeah…’”

Charlamange’s wife told him on air that he needs to learn how to tell stories you shouldn’t have used the word rape”, referring to the leaked interview. “We both know what happened and I was not passed out. I was very coherent, like enough for me to lift off my hips so you could take my panties off.”

Charlamagne keeps getting into hot water because of his mouth he just recently apologized for statements he had previously made about getting a woman drunk and giving her Spanish Fly. Now this…

Charlamange apologized on the Breakfast Club for what he said and admitted that he needs to be more responsible in what he says.

Charlamange and Jessica have been married for four years and have 2 children together. They are expecting their third child later this fall.

“It’s taught me how to be a Wizard.” ~ Dwight Howards

NBA superstar Dwight Howard has a long resume when it comes to  NBA experience. And he can now add the Washington Wizard to the list.  On Monday the Washington Wizard introduced Howard as their newest team member.

In a press conference on Monday when the Wizards announced that they will be signing the Veteran to their roster. Howard summed up his basketball journey in the “Dwightness” quote of the day.

“I learned Magic for eight years. I traveled to La-La Land. I learned how to work with Rockets. Then I went and learned how to fly with some Hawks. Got stung by the Hornets. But through all of that, it’s taught me how to be a Wizard.”

The Wizard’s president of Basketball Operations Ernie Grunfield said in a statement.

“Dwight has been known throughout his career as one of the league’s best defenders, rebounders and finishers around the rim, all areas that we needed to improve heading into next season.” “His inside presence and athleticism will give us a much different look and will open up opportunities for us on both ends of the floor.”

The Wizards have made four playoff appearances in five years but fell to the No. 8 seed last season, many are thinking this run with Howard would give the Wizards a great chance of becoming a winning franchise.

Howard is about to enter his 15th NBA season, and he’s now the most veteran member of the Wizards’ rotation. Who’s to say that the Wizard’s will be Howard’s final home until he decides to hang it all up. Which will probably be no time soon since the only thing on his mind is getting the opportunity to stake claim to the Larry OBrien Trophy he was once close to winning back with Orlando.

When asked about his thoughts on him being inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame he replied  “I haven’t really thought about it. A lot of people said, it’s a 99 percent chance that I’m in, but I want to win.”

Atlanta will host its Super 16 round at Georgia State University Sports Arena July 26 – 29, 2018.

“This year’s tournament will be the most competitive in our five-year history,” said Jon Mugar, TBT Founder and CEO. “The City of Atlanta has been very supportive thus far and in return I’m confident we will deliver twelve of the most high level, intense and compelling basketball games in the world this summer to Georgia State starting July 26.”

“Giving back to the Atlanta area is extremely important to me,” says Bazemore. “What better way to enjoy a favorite pastime while investing in young people to reach their full potential.”

As part of the Day of Giving, Anderson Park in Northwest Atlanta will receive much-needed renovation work. The recreation center, which services hundreds of youth, will receive an overhaul of its gymnasium including a new electronic scoreboard, six new baskets, new shot clock, and improved lightning.

Several teams and players with ties to Atlanta are vying to compete in this year’s tournament, including “Dirty South” – a team that reached the quarterfinals of TBT in 2015 – which includes former NBA small forward Jamario Moon.

The teams competing in the Super 16 will be determined following regional play earlier in the month. The regional schedule includes:

• South – Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Richmond, Va. from July 13-15
• West – California State University Los Angeles from July 13-15
• Northeast – Long Island University of Brooklyn, N.Y. from July 20-22
• Midwest – Capital University of Columbus, Ohio from July 20-22

The games in Atlanta will determine the four teams moving on to the $2 million Championship round in Baltimore, MD from August 2-3.

For the first time, PUMA will serve as the official apparel sponsor of TBT, and is offering an official endorsement deal to any player who competes in TBT and then signs on with an NBA team next season.

Filmmaker and journalist Mike Cernovich opened pandora’s box on Twitter Friday night, which resulted in Disney firing  James Gunn from its “Guardians of the Galaxy” series because of tweets that would make any parent side eye and call 911.

Disney made the decision after the good sane people of the internet pushed a campaign centered around the tweets Gunn made about rape and pedophilia. Disney called the posts “indefensible” Good for them because that would have ended their careers had they even tried to defend him.

Just hours earlier, Cernovich also unearthed some disgusting pro-pedophilia tweets from USA Today columnist Cheri Jacobus, she posted a bizarre tweet about convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

When asked what made Cernovich want to expose the pedophile tweets, he stated

 “No one else will do it. It drives me insane. Why does the media protect them?”

It looks like pedophiles no longer have a place to hide on Twitter, while the world has good people like Cernovich, who used his platform like a Batman signal in the sky and let the world know, not to let those people babysit your kids.

The rapper was apparently pulled over for the lane change, not for tinted windows.

Offset is behind bars in Georgia after cops pulled him over and allegedly discovered at least one weapon.

Sources tell us the Migos rapper was traveling just outside Atlanta Friday when the vehicle he was in was pulled over for tinted windows. A witness tells us officers then discovered at least one gun in the car … a big no-no for Offset, who is a convicted felon.

Love and Hip Hop Atlanta star Stevie J has allegedly tied the knot with R&B superstar Faith Evans in Las Vegas.

It was around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning when Stevie J tweeted “I love you Faith Renee Jordan” leaving us all to suspect that marriage vowels were in order. Faith Evans responded back by tweeting “I Love you back Steven Aaron Jordan.”
