0

Rapper Black Buffet returns with a new visual for his song, “Por Siempre” taken from his project, Lifestyles of the Rich and Infamous Knowbodies.

The visual features picturesque views of Mexico as Black Buffet takes a trip across the border to put in some work.

From quick get money schemes to hard times with limited resources, Black Buffet brings to life the experience of anyone who has grown up in the hoods across America.

“I’m putting out 4 or 5 videos this Spring and leading into the Summer. I want to keep the content hot and I want people to really understand where I came from and how I got to this point,” Black Buffet said.

The song comes on the heels of Black Buffet dropping the Pusha Tfeatured and Nottz produced project that earned attention on a host of sites including,

“The way the project went I got a few solid joints on both projects and the album is dope. I just want to stay relevant with the visuals,” Black Buffet said. “Im just trying to keep pushing man, Por Siempre that means forever, so thats a testament to my hustle. I’m working on another project with different kinds of stuff and the instrumentation is totally different from before.  Me and Nottz, we pretty much have a full album.

New Music Alert: 6FO – “Temporary”

0

Advancing his single “Temporary” Ft. Alpo, established rapper 6FO drops the visual to his song which was filmed in London, England.

Embodying the 007 and Bourne Identity-like persona for his video, 6FOshows up in London ready to secure the bag for the Gruspro produced track.

“For Temporary I took it to London and we got this great dope sound, the guy on the hook is Alpo and it eventually got picked up by Baller Alert, World Star, ItsBizkit and a lot of the social media bloggers have been picking up on it, it’s been taking it off,” 6FO explained.

Battling past some issues after getting caught up in the streets, 6FO has spent the past few months taking trips from LA to ATL recording and pushing his brand further.

“Right now I’m just pushing hard and trying to get that consistent push. I had ran into some Fed issues and now that’s all clear and out the way. I’m flying everywhere, recording in LA and Atlanta and just spreading out the story,” 6FO said. “Everything is moving at God’s speed and I’m getting a lot of people’s attention with the music.”

Part of 6FO’s motivation lies in the tragic murder of his best friend and musical collaborator E-9, whose killers were recently set free after the trial.

“I’m dealing with a few losses of friends with the drug shit, and the E-9 case is closed and there was no snitching involved and so of course they got off – I’m just dealing with my issues day by day,” 6FO said. “It’s all about the code you live by, that just gives me the energy to keep moving. If I were to stop I would really be taking a loss, so I’m just going to keep pushing and keep hope alive and keep it moving.”

Was Rapper TI’s Arrest The Result of His Community Activism?

0

In this exclusively video obtained by TMZ, rapper TI is seen asking a cop who arrested him inside his multi-million dollar gated community that the only reason he was arrested was because “he was acting a fool” which isn’t actually a crime. In the footage, the rapper appears to be sober and coherent while asking the cop why was he arrested.

In an earlier news report, the rapper had arrived home around 4 A.M. but forgot his key and when he told the guard that he lived there, the guard refused to let him in. After his wife confirmed to the guard that he did live there he was allowed access. When the rapper went back to ask the guard why was he being given such a difficult time, words were exchanged and the police was called. There was never any physical violence but the guard allegedly stated to cops that he was in fear of his life.

The actor’s high-profile attorney Steve Sadow released the following statement to the media:

Tip was wrongfully arrested early this morning when he attempted to gain entrance into his gated community – where his wife “Tiny” and his family reside. The guard was sound asleep when Tip arrived at the guardhouse. It took Tip some time to wake up the sleeping guard. Tip clearly identified himself and sought entry. The guard refused entry. Tip was in contact with “Tiny” by phone and “Tiny” confirmed that Tip should be let in immediately. The guard continued to refuse entry without justification. Words were exchanged and apparently the guard and/or a supervisor called the police. When the police arrived, they were not interested in hearing Tip’s side of the story and wrongfully chose to end the situation by arresting Tip.

It is a known fact that rapper TI has been very vocal about police abuses around the country and was also one of the organizers of this year’s Houston Restaurant boycott. He also serves on Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms transition team.

“Stand Back” and take cover as Milwaukee emcee Taiyamo Denku puts a brutal bruising to a Psycho Les production. Along with the deadly wordplay, video director Wes Tank brings the brolic single to life with clever silhouette editing on top of limited bursts of colors. 55-Time Grammy-Nominated Producer Ken Lewis Collabs With Vancouver’s Kresnt For “The Lunar Phase”

0

If you are a rap artist from another country trying to catch the attention of the US market, you could certainly have a worse strategy than tapping 55-time Grammy-nominated producer / engineer and long- time Kanye collaborator Ken Lewis to work on your project. That’s exactly what Afghan-Canadian rapper and Vancouver resident, Kresnt, did for his newly released project, “The Lunar Phase.” It appears to be a formula that’s working for him as he debuted the project at a sold-out listening party in his hometown earlier this month and the only video to date, “In Your Place”, has garnered over 1M views to date with no sign of slowing down. The project even boasts a stellar feature from rising Atlanta star, Nessly, on the wavy “Zone.” All in all, it appears that Kresnt has all the makings of a breakout from his country’s west coast and to hear him tell it, he is gunning for a spot on XXL’s 2019 Freshman list. Keep him on your radar!

Diddy Downsizes Revolt Media While 50 Cent Trolls Him

0

It’s only been a few days since Diddy’s Revolt TV downsized by laying off a third of the companies staff. In an exclusive interview with Revolt TV’s CEO Roma Khanna with Variety.com, Khanna revealed that the company’s plan is to reorient the content production operation to deliver a broader range of short-form and long-form content encompassing lifestyle and culture, fashion, art, comedy, and social justice. This comes as no surprise, the company signaled its steps towards changing last October when former MGM TV head Khanna joined the company as CEO. In February, former BET and Syfy channel creative exec Robyn Lattaker-Johnson was named head of content.

Khanna shares “We will work with more outside voices, producers, and influencers while maintaining a strong editorial core in-house. We will also create a more healthy and stable business base from which we can grow. And we continue our proud record of being over 65% culturally diverse and nearly 50/50 gender balanced,” she wrote. “Change can be difficult. This move is about strength and growth. As one of a very small handful of networks owned and controlled by the African-American community, we need to ensure we remain fiscally strong so that we can continue to authentically represent the culture.”

Lattaker-Johnson told Variety in February she sees potential for comedies, game shows, and more elaborate documentary series on Revolt.

“Ultimately we need to be able to break out with a series or more as soon as possible in a way that not only reaches our core audience but goes beyond our core,” she said at the time of her appointment

P.Diddy remains the majority owner of Revolt Media and TV. Leave it to Hip Hop’s Troll Curtis Jackson aka 50Cent to throw a little shade Diddy’s way. 50  posted and then deleted an IG post saying “l can fix this if you need help, but you can’t be acting like no punk around me man Damn!!! get the strap. #Lecheminduroi,”. FiF sho’ knows how to kick a man when he’s down huh? There has been no response from Diddy.

Check out Khannas full memo to Revolt staffers:

Dear REVOLT Team,

As you know, over the last few months we have been working to realign our content and brand strategy to move us towards our vision of being a leader of Hip Hop culture. We want to be a platform for diverse voices to have an authentic home. And we want to reflect the culture from within.

Some great changes are underway as we build our programming strategy and re-envision our content and social media. But to achieve our vision we still have work to do and challenges ahead.

As a part of addressing our challenges, today we implemented a very difficult decision to take action to streamline our team and operations to deliver on this new vision and to create a healthy and strong company. Effective immediately REVOLT will resize and refocus. These changes will result in the elimination of just over 50 positions in both New York and Los Angeles, across divisions of the company. We are simplifying the way we work and shifting our resources to allow us to invest in the stories we want to tell in a new way and with higher impact.

We will work with more outside voices, producers and influencers while maintaining a strong editorial core in-house. We will also create a more healthy and stable business base from which we can grow. And we continue our proud record of being over 65% culturally diverse and nearly 50/50 gender balanced.

Change can be difficult. This move is about strength and growth. As one of a very small handful of networks owned and controlled by the African American community, we need to ensure we remain fiscally strong so that we can continue to authentically represent the culture.

We are proud to be a home for diverse voices and I know we will continue to grow our platform across both TV and digital as a home for Hip Hop culture.

Today we should take a moment and thank our colleagues who have helped us get to this important time in our evolution. They are, and will remain, an important part of our story.

Tomorrow we need to wake up strong, focused, and ready for the future as we pursue our vision to be unapologetically Hip Hop. We need to offer a voice for a new generation, one that represents and serves the diverse community we live in.

I am excited to work with you all to build a strong future. Thank you for your continued hard work. Together we are going to do great things.
