Reported by: Dennis Byron
Former NBA player Javaris Crittenton along with more than a dozen other people were arrested Wednesday, January 15, 2014 allegedly involved in a drug trafficking sting throughout the metro Atlanta area. According to the Fulton County Jail records the charge is conspiracy to violate Georgia Controlled Substance Act, which is a felony. The alleged drugs involved are cocaine and marijuana. HHE’s Dennis Byron was at the Fulton County jail for Crittenton’s first appearance but within moments prior to his scheduled hearing, we were notified that he wanted to waive his appearance.
Crittenton and the other suspects are accused of selling multi-kilo quantities of cocaine and several hundred pounds of marijuana during the seven month investigation dating back to June 2012. Crittenton also was indicted for alleged gang activity and murder. (Click here for more details). Crittenton waived his hearing on January 16, 2014 so he remains in the Fulton County Jail with no bond. He is charged with two counts of conspiracy to violate the Georgia Controlled Substance Act.
