Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker are set to release their musical, A Mother’s Love, on DVD along with the CD Soundtrack next week, April the 8th. Kandi Burruss is best known for being a member of the platinum-selling group Xscape. As a songwriter she earned a Grammy for her work on TLC’s smash-hit “No Scrubs” and also wrote the number-one hits “Bills, Bills, Bills” and “Bug A Boo” for Destiny’s Child. Burruss’ resume also includes creating hits for numerous musicians including Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Pink, ‘NSYNC, Usher and Whitney Houston.
A Mother’s Love is a story that captures the rollercoaster relationship between a mother and daughter. This hit musical stages Kandi as a member of a girl group dealing with the trials and tribulations of the industry all while balancing her personal turmoil with the all differences between her mother and new love. This story depicts how tough it can be for a mother to let go and allow her daughter to make her own decisions when it comes to love. Torn between accepting the life her daughter wants and forcing the life she thinks her daughter should have, this is A Mother’ s Love.
While Kandi has the starring role in A MOTHER’S LOVE, she and Todd have put together an all-star cast for this musical. The supporting cast includes the legendary Eddie Levert of the O’Jays, Chandra Currelly of Tyler Perry’s stage productions, vocalist Shirley Murdock, platinum-selling Q Parker of 112, D. Woods formerly of Puffy’s platinum-selling girl group Danity Kane, and Real Housewives of Atlanta cast mate, Porsha Stewart. Also casted in this play is social media personality Funky Dineva and V103’s L-Breezy.
