R&B badboy Chris Brown’s troubles continue to mount as Breezy is currently being transported to Washington, DC from Los Angeles to face trial for an assault last year.

Brown, 24, was transferred into the custody of federal marshals after an extradition hearing Wednesday in federal court in Los Angeles, according to U.S. Marshals Service spokeswoman Laura Vega.

Unfortunately for Chris, this won’t be a first class trip as he’ll be booked on a series of government planes that hopscotch across the country taking inmates from prison to prison, Vega said. The trip, with layovers in jails along the way, could take up to two weeks, she said.  Chris will also be shackled during his travels.

Chris Brown has been locked up in L.A. County jail since being kicked out of a court mandated drug-rehab facility three weeks ago.  The U.S. attorney in Washington petitioned for Brown to be extradited from Los Angeles to Washington for his April 17 trial.

Brown and his bodyguard are accused of assaulting a man outside of a D.C. nightclub in October.

Brown could actually face an extended jail stay if convicted because it would clearly violate his probation stemming from his beat down of former girlfriend, Rihanna, in 2009.
