California rapper, Kendrick Lamar, dived into the Hip Hop scene with his lead single “The Recipe” featuring Dr. Dre. He followed up soon after with his latest release “Swimming Pools (Drank).” The 25-year-old west-coast rapper has announced his debut album would be called “good kid, m.A.A.d city,” and will be arriving on Oct. 2. Since releasing “section.80” the mixtape last year, Lamar has signed a deal with Interscope/Aftermath.
Among the artists that Lamar has collaborated with include Snoop Dog, The Game, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Q-Tip, Talib Kweli, Curren$y and more. During a recent interview with Montreality, Kendrick shared his thoughts about his much anticipated debut album release.
“I think it’s just going to keep the level of originality as far as being original hip hop and doing something unique. I think that’s a piece of the game that was missing for a long time.”
