Blackballed Hollywood Actor Isaiah Washington Comes to the Defense of Terry Crews

0

Under any ‘normal’ circumstances when a  victim of sexual assault comes out in Hollywood, they have the full support of the industry. But in the case of Actor Terry Crews Hollywood has turned its back on him after he accused and now suing his former Agent Adam Venit of sexually assaulting him in front of his wife at an Adam Sandler event last year.

TMZ caught up with fellow Hollywood star and good friend of  Crew’s Isaiah Washington. Washington believes Crews is being railroaded in the industry. Isaiah is very familiar with being blacklisted in Hollywood after he himself experienced being blackballed after an anti-gay slur back in 2007 backstage at the Golden Globe awards. Washington shared with TMZ that, “It looks like people are trying to pick sides. Uh, it looks like someone is trying to do a favor for someone who doesn’t deserve the favor,” said Washington in a video published by TMZ Tuesday.

Washington said Crews is a “victim” who clearly has done nothing wrong. “That’s like victimization on top of victimization,” he said.

Crew’s will probably still be out of work now that he is suing Adam Venit for sexually assaulting him. TMZ reports Crew’s lawsuit states that Venit looked at Crews “like a rabid dog, sticking his tongue in and out of his mouth provocatively.” Crews said after the alleged assault he pushed Venit away and turned to Adam Sandler yelling, “Adam, come get your boy! He’s grabbing my nuts.”

Crew’s stated on his way home from the event Adam Sandler called and asked if he was ok and Crews responded that he was surprised he got molested at age 48. He says Sandler expressed shock at Venit’s behavior.

He says the next day he called his agent at William Morris Endeavor — the same agency where Venit works — telling him of the alleged assault. A few hours later, Crews says Venit called him and apologized, claiming he was just not himself that night.

Venit was suspended as head of William Morris Endeavor Agency for 30 days. He returned to work on Nov. 27. But as for Terry Crews, he has been out of work since the allegations.

In the midst of a nationwide sexual assault scandal, who would’ve thought an actual victim of sexual assault would be blackballed from working in Hollywood because he had the courage to speak out. That goes to show there is a double standard to being a victim of sexual assault in Hollywood. Terry Crew’s is paying an unfair price for speaking out.

Say What? Judge Denies Meek Mill’s Request for Bail, Calls Him ‘a Danger to the Community’

Meek Mill cannot catch a break this year.  Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley denied a motion to allow the 30-year-old rapper to be bailed out of a Pennsylvania correctional facility. Mill’s legal team said they are disappointed and the decision continues “a travesty of justice.”

The  Philadelphia judge said that  Meek Mill will stay in prison because he’s a “danger to the community.”

Meek Mill was sentenced to two to four years in prison after violating the terms of his probation on a decade-old gun and drug charge by being arrested twice this year, the rapper’s lawyers have filed additional documents to have the judge removed from the case.

Meek Mill “is and continues to be a danger to the community in Philadelphia, New York, Missouri, and other locations throughout the United States, he continues to be a danger to himself based upon a history of continuous use of illegal drugs, and is an increased and greater flight risk because he already has been sentenced to a term in state prison and gave false information to authorities when he was arrested in St. Louis, Missouri,” Brinkley said in the denial.

One of Mill’s lawyers, Joe Tacopina, responded in a statement to PEOPLE, “We are very disappointed with Judge Brinkley’s decision to deny Mr. Williams bail, which continues her long pattern of unfair treatment of him. As stated on multiple occasions, he has never missed a previous court date in this case and poses absolutely no threat to the community, which makes him an ideal candidate for bail — a conclusion the Commonwealth did not oppose. We intend to immediately appeal this decision, so Mr. Williams can be released from prison on bail while we continue to work to overturn this wrongful and unjust sentence.”

0

Houston’s Kid Evo has had a lot on his mind, a whole album’s worth as it turns out and recently it premiered on HipHopSince1987, along with a brand new video for “All In The Way.” The album, “Goodbye Liana” is a more intimate project for Evo but it’s not 100% in the feels. “Spent countless hours in the studio and I’m happy with the way this project came out.” He explains. “I opened up more than usual and told some personal stories on this one and still managed to squeeze in a few fun records just because I don’t like being put in a box.” From the responses on his social media accounts since the release, the fans are eating up Evo’s expose.

“All in the Way”, Evo’s latest visual from “Goodbye Liana”, is a perfect example of his opening up. We’ve all had that naysayer in our lives that sh*t on our dreams and were never there when we struggled but came around fast once we started getting a taste of success.

Overall, “Goodbye Liana” is a terrific project to add to your ‘hate my Ex’ playlist or just for when you feel like listening to some real life sh*t. A little rap, a little R&B, terrific production and vocals. Definitely a two thumbs up.

New Music Alert: Pete Santos – “Odd Nights”

0

You may note a certain worldliness about Pete Santos’ music, and you would be correct. It comes courtesy of his travels growing up as an Air Force brat. So, although he can list the likes of ODB, Kanye, Outkast, Lecrae and De La Soul as influences, the singer/songwriter and emcee has also absorbed the sounds and cultures of the many places he has lived and travelled to. Currently a resident of Finland, Santos still has his sights set on making his mark in the music game stateside and his releases to date include an EP in March 2017 entitled “Our Lives Begin” and recently in August a single titled, “Last Night People”, available on all the DSP’s.

Today’s offering, “Odd Nights”, is a trappish song about playing video games. The song embodies a scene that many video game players go through, especially when playing video games online. In the chorus Pete Santos says, ‘we go live’, which is the monumental moment when the player/s can compete. The song is the first single of four coming off of Santos’ upcoming album, “Paint the Picture”, expected next spring. Check out the video for “Odd Nights” below.

New Video Alert: Geaux Yella – “KHOcaine”

Baton Rouge street narrator Geaux Yella breaks out his softer side on the title track to his soon-to-be-released project, “KHOcaine.” A recent signee to El Jeffe Music Group, Yella has been steadily making a name for himself since his stint on Kevin Gates’ Islah tour. While he may not break from the tried and tested formula of the region when it comes to subject matter, Yella’s flow is undeniable; cementing his place as ‘one to watch’ for 2018. This visual, a love song of sorts, comes courtesy of Michael Artis. The project features Boston George and Gucci Mane.

New Video Alert: Boston George – “D Boy” Ft. K Digga

No project named “Blow Talk” by an artist signed to Jeezy’s imprint would be complete without a song called “D Boy” and far be it from Boston George to disappoint. This time he grabbed fellow trapper K Digga for that Bama stamp with Orbit Didit behind the lens.
