YG Welcomes Second Daughter

0
By: Gabrielle Taite

Rapper YG reportedly welcomed his second daughter with the baby’s mother, Catelyn Sparks.

It has been a noticeably hard year for the Go Loko rapper, as his close friend Nipsey Hussle was killed back in March. He went on to drop his album 4Real 4Real, honoring his late friend on both the cover artwork and on his song called My Last Words. His friend Slim 400 was also recently shot multiple times, however he survived. YG is also potentially facing legal troubles, as his company car was recently involved in a police shooting, although he claims he was no where near the scene.

YG and Sparks already have a 3-year-old daughter together named Harmony. Sparks announced she was pregnant back in March. Sparks was also pregnant at the same time as DJ Mustard’s girlfriend, Chanel, and the two also have a 3-year-old as well. Sparks and Chanel reportedly accompanied each other to several maternity classes.

Karen Civil took to Twitter on July 13 to post a picture of Harmony holding her new little sister in the hospital and captioning it “Congratulations to YG on the birth of his second daughter Vibe Jackson!”

YG has yet to post or comment about the birth of Vibe on social media, however this definitely serves as a highlight during this rough time for the rapper. Congrats to Sparks and YG on welcoming their second child!

R. Kelly’s “Sister Wives” Living The Life at Trump Towers

0

The whereabouts of R. Kelly’s girlfriends, Jocelyn Savage and Azriel Clary have been clarified, as they both claim they remain inside the Trump Tower while R. Kelly faces his legal troubles.

Kelly was recently arrested in Chicago on Friday, July 12 after past employees turned in a total of 20 sex tapes which show Kelly performing sexual acts with minors. He is facing multiple charges including a 13-count indictment which includes enticement of minors, child pornography, and obstruction of justice charges.

Savage and Clary met Kelly when they were 19 and 17 years old, however both are now in their early twenties. Both of their parents have been vocal in the search for their children. They claim that their whereabouts since Kelly’s arrest have been unknown until now, however, Savage says that her parents know where she is and that her and Clary are not being held against their will.

Recently, it was reported that both Savage and Clary had been kicked out of Kelly’s apartment inside the Trump Tower following his arrest for two federal indictments. In a clip obtained by TMZ, the two claim that they are doing fine and still remain inside Kelly’s apartment. They even show their Chicago skyline view, and add that they have been here for years willingly.

Savage did most of the talking in the video, and even goes on to thank Kelly’s fans for their support during his ongoing legal battles. Many are not convinced however, as this type of video reinforces people’s believe that the singer has brainwashed the two victims.

5 Times Country and Rap Came Together

0

Rap and Country music are vastly different genres, but with songs such as Old Town Road soaring in popularity, let’s take a look back at five times when the two categories changed the game.

5. 4×4 by Miley Cyrus ft. Nelly

This song is featured on Miley’s fourth studio album, Bangerz, which debuted back in 2013. The song was written and produced by Pharrell Williams with the help of Nelly and Cyrus. It has a rodeo like feel to it, and talks about having fun through a metaphoric 4×4 truck. Despite not being released as a single, the song peaked at No. 41 on the U.S. Billboard Pop Digital Song charts.

4. Dirt Road Anthem Remix by Jason Aldean ft. Ludacris

Aldean performed this remix with Ludacris at the 2011 CMT Music Awards. When asked how he came to the decision to collaborate with Ludacris, Aldean said “He absolutely killed his verse of the song. And we’re both Georgia boys, so even though our music is totally different, our roots are the same. We both know about hot Georgia summers and cooling off with a six pack of two. It wasn’t that much of a stretch,” according to Aldean’s website. The song is the exact same as the original, with Luda’s additional verse.

3. Cruise Remix by Florida Georgia Line ft. Nelly

The original song was featured on the band’s 2012 album Here’s To The Good Times. It is the best-selling country digital song of all time in the United States as of January 2014, according to Billboard’s website. Nelly later hoped on the song, which caused Cruise to jump into the top 10 and peak at No. 4 on the Hot 100 chart in its 34th week, making it one of the slowest climbs to top five in the chart’s history. Additionally, the song spent 24 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs list.

2. Over And Over by Nelly ft. Tim McGraw

Nelly is clearly no stranger to country collaborations, with this 2004 hit that is featured on his fourth album, Suit. The song peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, and has been a classic ever since. In an interview with MTV back in 2004, McGraw said “I get in there (the studio) and say, ‘It ain’t nothin’ country about this song, but it was fun to get in there and sing with him. People are really liking the song, so we’ll see what happens.'”

1. Old Town Road Remix by Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus

Lil Nas X originally released this song in December 2018, and it later went on to reach No. 19 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs. However, after many complaints from country fans, the song was removed from the charts causing an outrage among many. Lil Nas X later went on to add country star Billy Ray Cyrus into the mix, and the song has skyrocketed ever since. If the song remains at No. 1 for two more weeks, it will be the longest running No. 1 song in history, according to XXL magazine.

Lil Wayne Denies Dropping Out of Blink 182 Tour After Walking Off Stage

By: Gabrielle Taite

Lil Wayne and Blink 182 have been on tour together since late June, however after storming off the stage, many are left wondering if Tunechi is done for good.

During a concert in Bristow, Virginia on Thursday, July 11, the 36-year-old rapper reportedly stopped in the middle of his set and left. He told the crowd, “Hold on, I just want the people to know, if you’re wondering, please forgive me, but I am so not used to performing to a crowd and there’s not too many, you know, like still, that’s not my swag.”He continued by saying, “I’m not sure how long I’m going to be able to do this tour but make some noise for Blink 182 for including me anyway. This might be my last night though, let’s go.”

Following, multiple people at the concert said that Wayne said there wasn’t enough people at the concert. They later tweeted their frustrations that Wayne performed only 20 minutes before leaving the stage. However, the rainy weather conditions may have been a contributing factor as to why many people did not show up.

However, the A Milli rapper is denying that he has quit the tour. He took to Twitter the following day stating, “Yesterday was krazy! But I want all my fans to know I won’t be quitting this tour! I’m having too much fun with my bros blink-182. Bangor,ME See you tomorrow!”

The Blink 182 and Lil Wayne tour still has many scheduled performances left, with its last show on September 22 in Columbus, Ohio. Click here to watch Lil Wayne’s declaration.

Inside Baby Kulture’s 1st Birthday Party

0

Rappers Cardi B and Offset recently celebrated their daughter Kulture’s birthday this past week and followed with an outlandish birthday celebration on Saturday, July 13.

The couple reportedly spent $400,000 on the party, which was themed around Kulture’s favorite show, Word Party, according to TMZ. During the party however, New York City suffered a massive power outage for quite some time causing the lights and music not work at times.

Despite the hardships, Cardi took to Instagram to talk about how fun the party was.

“It was so lit that I lost my motherf*cking nail,” Cardi said in the video. “Let me tell y’all something, y’all made it lit because the fact that I had got there, the lights went off in the party, it was like a whole hour with no lights, no music. But it was still lit! And then when we got the power…turned the music and some lights on, it got lit again. But with no air conditioner. So we was literally melting, but people were still dancing having fun…and then they cut the lights back on and nobody wanted to leave. And it’s ’cause of y’all and it was such a fun party. Thank you so much.”

There were a lot of desserts including two multi-tiered birthday cakes, as well as a Build-A-Bear workshop, rainbow balloons and various floral arrangements, according to TMZ.

Cardi’s family which included her sister, Hennessy, her parents and grandparents were all in attendance for the party. The 1-year-old received many gifts, one of which included a $100,000 diamond necklace from her parents and featured characters from the TV show Word Party.

The notorious Hot Girl, Megan thee Stallion, has confirmed that she and rapper Moneybagg Yo are dating.

The two have been rumored to be dating for the past few months, as Moneybagg Yo has already made appearances on some of Megan’s Instagram Live videos. In one case, Megan went live after a woman on social media claimed she wrote Simon Says, and Moneyboagg can be seen in the background of the hotel room sitting on the bed.

While he has already confirmed that the two are in a romantic relationship and even made her his Woman Crush Wednesday on Instagram, it took Megan some time before going public. The Big Ole Freak rapper took to Instagram to post a picture of her and Moneybagg Yo as she sports a beret and a red Yves Saint Laurent bag, captioning it, “He’s a Hot Boy now ????.”

R. Kelly’s “Sister Wives” Booted from His Trump Tower Residence

0

Not long after law enforcement arrested singer R. Kelly outside his Chicago Trump Towers building, agents from Homeland Security along with NYPD detectives took possession of the singer’s residence and padlocked the doors thus preventing his live in girlfriends Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary to regain entry into the unit.

On Thursday, Robert Sylvester Kelly was arrested in Chicago and charged with Sex Trafficking and Obstruction of Justice stemming from claims that he transported under-age girls across state lines for the sole purpose of having sex with them.

In Atlanta on Friday, R. Kelly’s publicist Darrell Johnson held a press conference outside the Loew’s Hotel on 12th street to discuss the singer’s latest arrest. Within minutes of the start of the press conference, the father of Joycelyn Savage, Timothy Savage interrupted the conference shouting to Johnson “Where is his daughter?” After words were exchanged between the two, Johnson continued speaking with the media. Johnson was aggressively questioned by members of the media about why was he there and not provided any additional information.

As far as bail for R. Kelly, federal prosecutors have written a 9-page letter from federal prosecutors in Brooklyn was delivered to a U.S. District Court judge asking that Kelly be held without bail before he can be removed to the Eastern District of New York and tried for what prosecutors allege is a “racketeering enterprise” to traffic and abuse women and girls.

Swedish Police Raid A$AP Rocky’s Manager’s Hotel Room

0

The A$AP Rocky case is still unfolding, as the rapper’s manager, John Ehmann’s, hotel room was raided by Swedish authorities.

The F*cking Problems rapper remains in a Swedish jail as prosecutors decide whether or not to continue the investigation. The two men seen in the video harassing Rocky and his crew are suspected of molestation and assault by the Swedish Prosecution Authority who have launched a preliminary investigation against the two. Rocky claims the men followed his crew for quite some time and they can even be seen hitting Rocky’s security guard with a pair of headphones.

As for Rocky’s manager, he has been in Sweden since before Rocky was detained, following the altercation. Ehmann was not at the scene when the incident took place. On Friday, July 12 four Swedish police officers appeared at his door claiming they had a search warrant. The officers allegedly took the manager’s phone and searched its contents, according to FOX News. Ehmann was completely taken aback and had no ideas what the raid was for.

Many believe this raid comes in response to the #JusticeForRocky online petition in support of the rapper’s freedom. The petition now has over 575,000 signatures. Celebrities such as Schoolboy Q, Nicki Minaj, T.I. Lil Yatchy, and Tyler, the Creator have spoken out in support of Rocky’s release and have taken Sweden off their tour lists until the 30-year-old receives justice.

Rocky is said to be detained until July 19 at the latest. On that date, prosecutors must decide whether or not to drop the case or to request more time in order to finalize an investigation.

Bhad Bhabie Claims People Don’t Support Her Because She’s White

0

Bhad Bhabie is no stranger to controversy, and this time, she is claiming that people don’t support her because of her race.

The 16-year-old is most known for her 2016 appearance on Dr. Phil. She took to Instagram, posting her frustrations that most female rappers are only popular because of their looks and not their talent.

“Ya’ll will promote half these female rappers that dead ass suck ya’ll only fck with most of them cuz they pretty or you like they ‘style,’” she wrote on her story. “I promise you these btches anit on that but when it comes to me a btch that can really rap ya’ll don’t wanna fck with me cuz how I came up and bc I’m white.”

She later posted another story excluding rappers such as Asian Da Brat, Megan Thee Stallion, Maliibu Miitch, Coi Leray, Tokyo Jetz, and Dej Rose Gold from her accusations. Some thought the Gucci Flip Flops rapper was throwing shade at Cardi B and the City Girls, however she quickly shut that down.

She later went on to threaten to quit rapping after her remarks quickly went viral, but she apparently changed her mind, as she posted “Nah fck that – I ain’t quitting sht” shortly after.

Despite her rants, Bhad Bhabie appears to be doing well. She reportedly signed a $1 million worldwide publishing agreement with Pulse Music Group earlier this week. She will receive $350,000 upfront followed by two $325,000 payments, according to TMZ.

Jermaine Dupri Believes Female Rappers Are Limiting Themselves, Cardi Responds

0

Rapper Cardi B claps back at controversial comments made my rapper Jermaine Dupri in a recent interview.

Many female rappers have emerged within the past few years, ultimately changing the rap game as we know it. Newcomers such as Megan thee Stallion and Saweetie have established themselves in the rap game, while artists such as Cardi B and Nicki Minaj are seemingly some of the most talked about rappers in the industry.

However, some people seem to have mixed feelings about this shift in music. In a recent interview with People, Jermaine Dupri stated that he thinks all female rappers talk about the same thing and have little variety.

“They all rapping about the same thing and I don’t think they’re showing us who is the best rapper,” Dupri said. “For me, it’s like strippers rapping.”

Cardi B quickly took to Twitter to respond, posting a video expressing her opinion that female rappers only rap about their sexuality because it is what people want to hear.

“It seems like that’s what people want to hear. I ain’t even gonna front because let me tell you something. When I did “Be Careful”, people was talking mad sht in the beginning, like “What the fck is this? This is not what I expected,” Cardi said. “If that’s what people isn’t trying to hear, then it’s like alright, I’mma start rapping about my p*ssy again.”

Cardi then went on to say that the women rapper who do not talk about their sexuality are not supported like those who do, as that is not mainstream. She also made a point to shout out other female rappers in another video such as Chika, Rapsody, and Tierra Whack for their efforts.

Cardi responds:

Sour Grapes? Legendary Group Salt N Pepa Beefing with DJ Spinderella Over Money

0

Salt-N-Pepa’s DJ, Spinderella, recently filed a lawsuit against the two for numerous unpaid royalties and appearances, however her claims may not be as accurate as they seem.

In the lawsuit, Spinderella claims that she was swindled out of large amounts of money, starting back in 1999. Additionally, she claims she was promised to receive $125,000 (a third of the royalties) for the group’s Best Of album, but did not. She said the group also left her out of many gigs and appearances before she was kicked out of the group.

However, Salt-N-Pepa’s team said the two ladies feel as though the lawsuit is a result of Spinderella’s own insecurities and that most of her claims are false, according to TMZ. The group claims Spinderella believes she was the third wheel ever since the Salt-N-Pepa Show on VH1 back in 2007, as she was only a featured guest. Sources from TMZ state that producers of the show did not want her involved, and that it was out of Salt-N-Pepa’s hands.

The duo’s legal team states that Spinderella is not entitled to any royalties, and that while she was always paid as an independent contractor, Salt-N-Pepa always made sure she was well compensated. Sources also say that the Salt-N-Pepa brand is owned by the two members, not Spinderella, making her claims of trademark infringement baseless. The group claims it has not used her name of likeliness since she was kicked out of the group.

As for Spinderella’s remarks about the group’s 2018 Billboard Music Awards appearance, Salt-N-Pepa state that no member of the group was paid for that performance, and that Spinderella was aware of this arrangement beforehand.

New Music Alert: Chianti – “They Don’t Know”

0

Today East Texas bred rapper Chianti releases his new single, “They Don’t Know.” Using his poetic words over classic Texas sounding production, Chianti uses his music as a therapeutic way to cope with the trials and tribulations of his life.

“I have always been a poet and whenever I wrote something and said it out loud it made me feel better, so I use that for therapy. I saw guys putting music to their poetry and as I started doing that, I started reciting it to my peers and I started to express myself and just went with it,” Chianti said. “Music-wise I mess with the music scene in Dallas, I am from Marshall, TX but I go do my music in Dallas, so as far as the music scene goes, I’m on that scene and the majority of my life I spent a lot of time in Dallas and that’s the music scene that I can speak on. East Texas is the community that I’m a part of right now.

From three stints jail to a nearly fatal car accident, Chianti uses his experiences throughout life to paint a poetic picture of the situations he raps about so that he can find his way through the problems of life.

“It’s the therapy side of it, it’s my outlet. A lot of things that I want to do I am limited by my actions and I feel like if I can talk about it or express it verbally, I can do it. It’s like action, I’m not doing it, but it feels like I’m releasing anger and releasing tension. It takes me from where I am to a whole ‘nother place. I guess it’s a high man. If I get pissed off about something I’m gonna address the situation. I’m gonna talk about it and I feel better when I do that,” Chianti explained.

“There have been a few near death experiences that I went through and a lot of trauma. I’ve been locked up and wrote a lot in prison. I got in a wreck and I almost died. When I came out of that car wreck, I found out I went to sleep and hit a car on the shoulder and I hit my head on the windshield and they had to reconstruct my face.”

Continuing to draw from real life experiences, Chianti’s new single “They Don’t Know,” addresses the frauds and fakes in the music industry. Inspired by a time when a fraudulent promoter got away with some of his money, Chianti knows that he can’t risk time behind bars over a small amount of money.

“They Don’t Know – was inspired by this music industry. I was dealing with this guy and he had ran off with some money and it was some little money. But it’s just what I have done to people for wayyy less than that. It was someone who ran off with some money and they didn’t do what they said they was gonna do. It was the principal and my thing was bro – I done been to prison three times. I can’t send my whole team to war over a piece of change over something like that and so I came up with the song,” Chianti reasoned.

In anticipation of his upcoming project in September, Chianti says this project is for real music fans and is “square business.”

“In the industry today its one of the realest projects that’s gonna come out as far real music. Everything I say in there is for real, it’s nothing in there that’s entertainment. I did it, I’m doing it. It’s square business, everything is square business about this album man. I’m just after a core group of people that just like real music. My experiences, it’s a lot of Hard Feelings and all my feelings I’m just releasing it,” Chianti added. “You got a lot of guys that are coming out of Dallas that are product of a sound that’s been developing for years and there’s a sound that has finally been perfected. These guys are reaping the benefits of a sound that these producers and engineers have put together over years and years of making music. If you have your stuff together image wise and you got your mind right with the proper financial backing, its a nice time to be around. Dallas is extremely saturated with artists, East Texas has some artists out here too though and that’s where I’m coming out of.”

Lil Nas X Releases Another “Old Town Road” Remix

0

Rapper Lil Nas X released yet another remix of his hit single Old Town Road which features Billy Ray Cyrus, Mason Ramsey and Young Thug.

The 20-year-old most recently released his 7 EP on June 21, which features popular songs such as Panini and Rodeo with Cardi B. Additionally, this remix comes after Lil Nas came out as gay on the last day of Pride month.

Old Town Road currently sits at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song has been there for about 14 weeks, with 13 of those weeks including the Billy Ray Cyrus remix. If the song remains in the No. 1 spot for three more weeks, it will become the longest running No. 1 single in history, according to XXL Magazine. Only two songs have outlasted 14 weeks at No. 1, making their peak at 16 weeks: Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s One Sweet Day (1995-1996) and Daddy Yankee’s Despacito featuring Justin Bieber (2017).

Hoping to surpass both songs, Lil Nas released the highly anticipated remix featuring Thugger and internet sensation Mason Ramsey, along with the previous contributions of Billy Ray. He teased the collaboration earlier, which was highly anticipated, and even expressed how much Young Thug has impacted his music. Responses on Twitter have been extremely positive, particularly concerning Ramsey’s verse in which he states “If you don’t got no giddy up, then giddy out my way.”

Watch the lyric video above for the remix, which features the animojis of Lil Nas X, Mason Ramsey, Young Thug, and Billy Ray Cyrus.
