Each One is Different… Snowflakes Are Fun for Fall!!!

0
Monsieur Lacenaire snowflake sweater

Do you remember as a kid on that first day of snowfall in winter, running outside with your friends to catch snow flakes on your tongue? And then that unfortunate moment comes when you have your head tilted back, mouth wide open towards the sky like a midget truck stop hooker whose about to earn her Christmas bonus, and then a pigeon just so happens to fly by right after feasting on yesterday’s left overs from the dumpster bin behind Taco Bell and then *PLOP*,  you’ve got a mouth full warm and moist bird crap wallowing around on your tongue.

But eno0ugh of my horrific tales from memory lane. The snow can be beautiful and yet treacherous at the same time. The closest I ever want to come near a blizzard is this navy Monsieur Lacenaire snowfall sweater. Snow flakes are a fun pattern to try whether on sweaters, sneakers, or accessories and it looks like some brands have the same idea.

50 Cent Verses TI: A Losing Battle!

0

It looks like rapper and business mogul 50 Cent has set his eyes on another target to beef with as the year comes to an end. This time he has reacted to a purported Vibe magazine interview where rap’s King of the South TI spoke candid about how he felt about Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson commenting on his previous weapons possession charge. It’s no mystery that some people in the hip hop community felt that Clifford “TI” Harris caught a sweet deal with the government, as his case was resolved with a minimal prison sentence.

The fact of the matter is most people who would have been arrested for the same charges would have surely been buried under a prison however those same people most likely would not have possessed the financial resources that the rapper had to defend himself against such charges. What is also apparent was the fact that while he didn’t receive a substantial amount of prison time however he did receive a very stiff sentence in any event. We can only speculate that 50 Cent’s recent “outrage” at the Kang of the south may have stemmed from his own upcoming project which is scheduled to be released soon. It is surely one way to grab a few headlines. Just saying!!

Update: 50 Cent took to Twitter to try downplay his role in the “beef”, saying “Look how much you fools have been tweeting about me and @tip I spoke to him last night you sh*t heads should be tweeting about streetking. You know I try to do the right thing. I’m starting to feel like good guys finish last. You talk more about sh*t then can go bad then positive things. Streetking help support me feeding a billion people in need. Instead of supporting nonsense Like the streetking page on face book.”

Bape x Tweed Harris cap

Get your fall/winter style into check by adding a few plaid accessories. Whether it be on a newsboy cap, gloves, or bags, mad for plaid is the way to go! I came across this tweed Bape newsboy cap and it immediately had me thinking of 1960s London. A little on the mod side but not too literal, the cap if worn with Sophnet‘s half gloves gives off the dopest street urchin vibe this side of the pond. Check out a few more items below!

Back In The Day!! Mannie Fresh Talks Growing up in NOLA and Cash Money Days..

0

Producer, Mannie Fresh sat down with Red Bull’s Music Academy and took a stroll down memory lane while reminiscing on his childhood in New Orleans and how he got into music. In the interview, Mannie cites Afrika Bambaataa’s “Planet Rock” as one of the first songs that he really felt had a true “hip hop” vibe and how he grew up playing actual instruments.

“My Christmas gifts used to be instruments,” said Mannie. “I was like, ‘Okay, my friend got a bike. Why did I get a turntable?’ Or somebody got an…Atari game. I got a trumpet. I was just like, ‘Okay, this stuff is just starting to stack up.’ My dad must’ve seen something in me. I would say somewhere around twelve is when I took an interest in it. Like, you know what? I’m just gonna go through my pile of what i thought was junk at the time: my keyboard, my drum machine, horns and all that, and start fiddling around with it.”

Mannie also touches on other subjects such as the evolution of music production, his early days with Cash Money and more. Check out the full interview below!

T-Boz Files for Bankruptcy After Not Getting Child Support…

1

T Boz, 1/3 of female supergroup, TLC, whose real name is Tionne Watkins has filed for bankruptcy according to TMZ. It’s been reported that T-Boz rakes in about $11,000 a month, while her monthly expenses add up to almost $9,000.

The singer and mother has also been fighting a brain tumor that she kept hidden for almost three years. Then to make matters even worse, the father of her 11 year old daughter and former hubby, Mack 10, owes her almost $250,000 in child support – money that definitely could have helped out at a time like this. Back in 2009, T-Boz claimed in an interview with Essence that her home that she stayed in with her daughter was not in foreclosure, but it looks like things have changed a bit since then.

NBA Basketball Season Will Start on Xmas Day Based on Tentative Agreement Reached

0

This has to be great news to many basketball fans that have been on edge since the players announced that there would be a lockout. The collective bargaining agreement which was reached during the early morning hours in New York City means that barring any unforeseen difficulties the players will be back in uniform as early as December 9th and on the court playing on Christmas day.

The joint announcement, delivered by Stern, Hunter, deputy commissioner Adam Silver, San Antonio Spurs owner Peter Holt and union executives Derek Fisher and Maurice Evans just after 3 a.m. in a conference room at the New York offices of Weil, Gottschalk & Manages LLP, came after a tumultuous, 15-hour negotiating session that, according to those in the room, nearly derailed several times during the evening.

“Despite some bumps this evening,” said a bleary-eyed Stern, “the greater good required us to knock ourselves out and come to this tentative understanding.”

Once the deal was announced NBA players took to their twitter pages to express their relief that a deal had been reached:

Rick Ross & Wale Cover Billboard Magazine..

0

Two of Maybach Music Group’s heaviest hitters grace the cover of the latest issue of Billboard Magazine where Rick Ross discusses how he has always comes through in “clutch” situations throughout his entire career, and his decision to sign the MMG roster including Wale, Meek Mill and Pill.

The Maybach Music head also discussed his upcoming album God Forgives, I Don’t which he recently pushed back due to issues with his health. “This album is almost like a movie,” Ross says. “I wanted [the title] to be something that was extremely emotional, to set up a real roller coaster ride as far as the music and thought process. It sounds like a term of retaliation, and with the picture that I’m painting, it felt perfect.” Issue on stands now.

Radio and TV personality, Egypt’s “Egypt Cares Foundation” kicks off its 2nd “Egypt Gives Back Tour” which will provide coats and toys over the holidays for those in need. The 6-day tour kicks off November 28, in Queens, NY and will make stops in Harlem, Brooklyn, The Bronx, Newark and Plainfield, NJ.

VIDEO: Ludacris Drops Visuals for “Bada Boom”

0

Even though Drake and Big Sean have both pretty much tried to downplay what Ludacris considered “diss” lines thrown at him, Ludacris is not letting up on the two relative newcomers. The self-proclaimed “legend” dropped visuals for “Bada Boom”, a track off of his recent 1.21 Gigawatts: Back to the First Time which responds to comments that Drake and Big Sean made earlier in the year about Luda stealing their flows. The visuals feature clips from some of the most notorious hip hop rivalries of all time including Jay Z vs. Nas, East Coast vs. West Coast and plenty more. Luda’s definitely making a statement with this one, check out the video below.

Rocko’s Mixtape “Gift of Gab” Review

0
Rocko Da Don (Photo by Johnny Nunez/WireImage)

Rock, Future, and the whole A1 Free Band Gang Movement are where Bird Man, Lil’ Wayne, and Cash Money used to be, right before international stardom. Rocko’s mixtape “Gift of Gab” is a straight up street banger. The tape is an epitome of future quality street music. The beats are extremely up tempo with pounding 808s that makes your head bob up and down, along with very tuneful hooks resonating futuristic musically crafted melodies.

It is not like your typical gangsta rap, even though the same street mentality is applied to the lyrics. The tape brings a new gutter, hardcore, rockstar persona to rap. “Take U away” or “Thumb Thru Da Check” songs have potential to surpass any mainstream hip hop song out (my opinion). “Squares out your Circle” will relate to how fame take sacrifices. However, Rocko has never been known not to delivery substance packed mixtapes. Rocko Dinero, Wild Life, and Swag Season were all major in the urban underground hip hop communities.

What a nice holiday gift for music lovers and congrats to Rocko and his aggressive movement. Hard work surely pays off. Let us know what you think of the music.

RHOA’s Peter Thomas Goes In on the Housewives of Atlanta

0

After all hell broke loose on this past Sunday’s episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta between Cynthia Bailey’s husband, Peter Thomas and Phaedra Park’s husband Apollo Nida, Peter had a few things to say about the housewives, and he told the folks over at UPTOWN Magazine. Peter dishes on everything from how he feels about each individual housewife to his confrontation with Apollo. Check out some of the things Peter had to say below.

On clashing with Apollo:

What people see is what it is. I don’t really know Apollo. Apollo felt like he was defending his wife [regarding] the UPTOWN article that I did . . . the article wasn’t about them. The article was about how I felt about what my wife said and what people were saying about, you know, UPTOWN Restaurant and Lounge and that she gave me money to do it and I wanted to set the record straight by saying yes she made a contribution but I didn’t take her wallet to do it.

The real problem with Sheree:

She talks about everybody f****ed up all the time, especially my wife. She said my wife is spineless. She said my wife has no backbone. She said my wife follows around NeNe like some little puppy. She says a lot of really f****ed up things and my wife is too much of a classy chick to even go in on that so, when they ask me what I think, because me and my wife is one, I’m gone say how I feel. She thinks she’s cute but I don’t think she’s cute.

About NeNe and her mouth:

When I say NeNe is loud, it’s because NeNe got a big ass mouth but I love her. I love her to death. I love her. She’s cool as hell. She’s the realest as far as I’m concerned.

About Kim and her mouth:

When I say Kim is crazy as hell, it’s because her mouth is so reckless. All kinds of s**t come out of her mouth.
