[VIDEO] 2 Chainz Goes In On Cocky Rappers.. Says “Everybody In The Game Got Too Cool”

0

In a statement that we can probably all agree with, 2 Chainz goes in on his peers and fellow rappers that he feel have gotten too “cool” and way too “arrogant”. In a recent interview, 2 Chainz vents on how some rappers have gotten so arrogant that if they’re in a public setting with another rapper or fans, instead of acknowledging them, they’ll opt to put on headphones or have a fake phone conversation just to avoid the interaction. 2 Chainz also touches on how his humility has taken him further than some of his more arrogant counterparts.

See what 2 Chainz had to say below.

“I think everybody [in the game] got too cool, the whole about coming into the room and sh*t,” he said. “It’s like all of us [rappers] know we’re in the room, but n***as act like they don’t see each other…that sh*t is what’s f**king up the game. I ain’t got to dap every n***a down, but at [least] say ‘What’s up.’ That sh*t’s what took [me] a little bit further than the more arrogant [artists]…that’s the little sh*t that might separate from another n***a, ‘cus I’ll be in the airport and pull that move [and] I’ll [say], ‘What’s up?’ when I hear my name…I don’t know how to fake talk on the phone, I don’t know how to listen to my headphones [and ignore someone]…I could have my headphones on for real, and if I hear you, I’ll still acknowledge you. You know when n***as start getting them checks…they [get arrogant].”

I’m starting to like 2 Chainz more and more by the day. From his humble statements to the hilarious “Breastimate Challenge” he did with XXL Mag, he seems like one of the coolest rappers out right now. 2 Chainzzz!!

Smooth Sailing With Nautical Style!!!

Christian Louboutin studded boat shoes

One day I’ll be able to afford the luxury of spending winter in another climate. But for those of you who are already among the jet-setting type, than you’re probably either already at your get-away destination of choice or making plans to do so. Well, luckily for you I’ve dug up some items you might want to stow away in your luggage for that Christmas cruise or holiday resort traveling.

Case in point, the Christian Louboutin spring 2012 studded boat shoe. A simple design with exaggerated hardware would look quite dope with your feet propped up on poolside lounge chairs or cabanas. I can def see these on the likes of Pharrell Williams. To complete your look, try adding a few accessories with a nautical motif! View more pics below!

Three Six Mafia’s Juicy J Signs to Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang

0

In a recent interview with Hood Rich Radio’s DJ Scream, Juicy J confirmed that he has signed to Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang imprint. “Juicy J is now with Taylor Gang, we goin’ in this year man. 2012, we goin’ in,” he told DJ Scream. “We got a compilation album we’re doing, when you hear it, you’re going to be like ‘Wow’”. Juicy J also revealed that he and Wiz Khalifa are working on a collabo album.

Juicy J dropped his single “Stoners Night Pt. 2” yesterday featuring Wiz Khalifa, off of his latest project Blue Dream and Lean which is dropping today. As much as we all love Juicy J (including myself) his solo projects usually give us only a handful of actual listen-worthy tracks, and with the signing of video vixen turned female rapper Lola Monroe, it’s safe to say that Taylor Gang won’t be rivaling any of the heavy hitters such as Young Money or Maybach Music Group anytime soon.

Mixtape Review: Lupe Fiasco – Friend Of The People (I Fight Evil)

0

Who is the most unpredictable arist in Hip Hop? Chicago’s Lupe Fiasco deserves consideration. After listening to his catalog (Food & Liquor, The Cool, Lasers) its obvious that “Westside Lu”  has paid his dues. With that said, there has been  much anticipation towards Lupe’s newest project. His latest mixtape title might ring bells to die hard Lupe Fans; Lupe originally intended to release Friend of the People back in 2009. Due to  Lupe’s contribution to MTV’s trek documentary it wasn’t released until Black Friday of this year. Lupe is the first mainstream artist to lay down a mixtape over an eclectic range of beats sampled from artists like Ellie Goulding, Justice, Skrillex and M83. (Via MTV)

The mixtape’s “Introduction” is a sound bite from a political speech, which questions the necessity of the U.S. being a military superpower vs. a humanitarian superpower. “Lupe Back” is the title of the album’s first song and it also begins with a sound bite, recalling a recent incident at the University of California, Davis, where Occupy Wall Street student protesters were pepper-sprayed. Moving along,  the mixtape gets unique on “Double Burger with Chesse” over Justice’s “Ohio”.  The thought provoking track features movie references from every hood classic you could think of. It’s a perfect example of how Lupe possess the talent to rap and the creativity to bring forth ideas and topics that are impossible to replicate.  On “Lightwork” Lupe experiments with the dub-step wave over Ellie Gouldings & Bassnectar’s “Lights“. Although this beat was eventually bound to get jacked by a rapper, Lupe flows non stop referencing Atlanta gangster rap artist Trouble Trouble. His mind is as open as any artist in music regardless of genre. Once  “Super Cold” is reached, Lupe’s vibe is hard to knock ; rapping over The Glitch Mob’s “Bad Wings”. The high pitch chords resemble those of Drake’s “I’m On One”  rounding off  Lupe’s rampage of destroying beats from the electronic genre. Lupe’s fourth solo album Food & Liquor 2 is currently a work in progress so things can only get better from here.

Common Links with CNN for New Documentary

0

It’s evident Common had intentions of ending 2011 on a strong note.  The 39- year old Actor/Rapper/Philanthropist  is set to release his 9th studio album The Dreamer/ The Believer on December 20th.  Apparently shooting visuals for “Sweet” were not the only thing on the Chi-town native’s agenda during his recent trip to Hati. He and his film crew, including photographer Steven Taylor, also gathered tons of video and photos of the Restaveks. Common united with  CNN for a documentary in where he embarks on a journey through the earthquake ridden Caribbean island. According to CNN, the some 300,000 Restaveks children are put into forced labor as domestic servants are forced to work in modern day slavery conditions. The objective of the project is to spread the awareness of the issue, aiming to end modern-day slavery. Watch this powerful piece below or learn much more about the documentary at CNN’s Freedom Project website.
