How many of you remember a few years ago when everyone and their momma who paid a visit to the local swap meat came out wearing some kind of variation of the iconic plaid Burberry print? It came to the point where I began seeing it on sneakers, back pockets of denim, women’s handbags, and eveywhere else imaginable that it absolutely DOES NOT belong! Well, I’m glad that trend is over. But luckily enough, the London based luxury retailer is one of the brands that never goes out of style!
Last night in Beverly Hills, CA designer Christopher Bailey and certified sexy Victoria Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley ,hosted the Burberry Body event where a handful of other celebs came out in full force fashion with looks fresh from the spring 2012 runway.
Case in point, the soon to be auntie of the 2nd coming of Beysus Christ, Solange Knowles who made an appearance (minus her afrocentric lacefront wig) and did double duty as DJ for the evening. Some people, myself included, don’t give Solange the proper credit when it comes to her style. More often than not she scores fashion hits rather than misses. Tonight was no exception. To the untrained eye, she could have very well stepped right off of the runway and into the spotlight! Extra attention must be paid to the killer footwear she’s rockin’!
As for Serena (who has been making her rounds to quite a few parties these days), she accented her nude, curve clinging mini dress with Burberry clutch and 1980s’ Jodi Watley wig.
