Hip Hop Enquirer’s Dennis Byron sat down with female hip-hop artist Wankaego for an exclusive interview. During the interview, the First Lady of Trill Entertainment discussed her previous modeling career, problems women face in the rap industry, and how she managed to get signed by Trill Entertainment.

”It was hard because people didn’t respect me as an artist, just as a model, so it was really hard.” She says.

Just like any other female artist trying to make a name for herself, Wankaego had to make some noise and be heard instead of just being seen. Although, she does realize that majority of her followers are male, she decides to use her looks to get herself known in the industry by being eye-candy.

In the rap game, female empowerment is really important for success. Wankaego hopes for collaborations with Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azelea, Da brat, and Missy Elliot.

“Men collaborated all the time; if we [women] all came together it would be monumental.” Say Wankaego.
