Russell Simmons tells President Donald Trump to “Wake the F up”

Hip Hop Mogul  Russell Simmons gave his long time friend and President of the United States Donald Trump a clear warning to “Wake the F up” In response to Trump’s insulting and racist response to the white supremacist terror in Charlottesville, the hip-hop mogul wrote in a piece published in the New York Daily News.

“If you do not change your course immediately, you will go down in history as the great divider, the destroyer of the environment and the embodiment of everything we as Americans have fought so hard to call ours,” “The racist, bigoted movements you are feeding now are gaining power by your words, actions and refusal to hold people accountable for the destruction they are causing in your name.”

In the letter Simmons also reminisced on how Trump used to be:

“Do you remember all of your New York Jewish and African-American friends you probably spent more time hanging out with than all the WASPs you could find? Do you remember making sure Jews who were turned away at other country clubs had an open door policy at Mar-a-lago?

 

“I do. That was the Donald I called a friend. That is the Donald I know. Where is he now? I have to believe he is still in there, somewhere.”

“Is this the legacy you want to leave behind? Your children’s legacy and your grandchildren’s legacy? On the road you are on, old friend, the Trump name will come to be regarded in American history as a wannabe dictator who surrounded himself with bigots, white supremacists, and money-hungry wolves.”

Simmons ended with, “You can find your highest self. You can become conscious. Scripture tells us the Donald I knew — or an even greater Donald — is still there inside you, sleeping. It is time to wake him the f—- up.”

Sad News: Comedic legend and Civil Rights Icon Dick Gregory dies at the age of 84. 

Comedic legend and civil rights activist Dick Gregory died Saturday at the age of 84.

Dick Gregory died in Washington, DC, Christian Gregory his son said, without giving details.
“It is with enormous sadness that the Gregory family confirms that their father, comedic legend and civil rights activist Mr. Dick Gregory departed this earth tonight in Washington, DC,” Christian Gregory wrote. “The family appreciates the outpouring of support and love and respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time. More details will be released over the next few days.”

Dick Gregory was taken to the hospital after feeling ill Aug. 9 and was later released with instructions to rest for a few days, but his family returned him to the hospital three days later on Aug. 12, at which time he was admitted.

The song is in rotation at Hot 107.9 and 94.5 Streetz in Atlanta while also gaining momentum in Atlanta clubs. In addtion to the radio airplay Marv Allen has shows lined up throughout the Southeast this Summer where he will be touring in support of the new single.

According to Usher: “My Left Stroke Just Went Viral” #Unbothered

Yesterday, music mogul Jermaine Dupri posted a video of him and Grammy superstar Usher Raymond, IV heading to the studio. You can clearly hear Usher singing the verse from Kendrick Lamar’s smash hit single Humble “My left stroke just went viral” and while we can only speculate what he meant by that in light of the recent lawsuits and unsubstantiated claims by several women and a man.

Those suits were filed after a story posted on Radaronline.com (sister site to the National Enquirer) which purported that there was some type of settlement paid by the singer based on sketchy documents the website posted. Several websites have already debunked the story based on the alleged court documents appeared to be fake. In addition, celebrity blogger SandraRose.com reported that she spoke to sources in Usher’s own camp who stated the singer is in the best of health and doesn’t have Herpes as was reported by RadarOnline.com

Clearly Usher is not bothered by those claims as he is in the studio working with top songwriters Bryan Michael Cox, Sean “The Pen” Garrett, and executive produced by Jermaine Dupri.

After all why worry when you are represented by Steve Sadow, one of the top legal minds in Georgia who has successfully helped other high-profile clients which included rapper/actor TI and Rick Ross, Howard K. Stern.

Angela Rye’s new podcast entitled On 1 with A. Rye just officially launched last month and has had its number of successes since its first episode debuted. Angela Rye is predominately known for serving as a political commentator on CNN but is now breaking into the entrepreneurial world with her first podcast. It focuses on politics and current events through a pop culture lens. Her first ever guest was Maxine Waters and that episode aired on July 12th.

She interviews Jesse Williams in her latest episode of On 1 with A. Rye which was the third episode in her current series. In the discussion they touch on topics such as Ebroji, light-skinned privilege, his journey/road to activism, and the overall essence of what it is to be black woman.

“Literally black woman’s hair is against the law”, he says.

Jesse comes across as passionate about the issues, problems, and overall discrimination that African-American people face in America everyday and have faced for hundreds of years to date. He explains that he feels that the reason why black people are discriminated against so harshly by white people and other races are because they are feared and unfamiliar. He says that a black woman’s hair is against the law or seen as unprofessional because white people cannot do it.

In this new project, Angela is responding and catering to her viewers who just simply wanted to keep the conversation going past commercial breaks. She been given the opportunity to engage with people from all corners of the country. She talks openly and honestly about the issues we all face everyday.

BREAKING: Rapper Kidd Creole Allegedly Stabs and Kills Homeless Man in Midtown for Making Sexual Advances Towards Him

Former member of Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five was arrested and taken into custody Tuesday night for the apparent murder of a homeless man.

57 year-old hip hop pioneer Kidd Creole from the legendary group Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five is allegedly being charged with murder stemming from a fight that occurred on East 44th Street in New York City according to media reports. Nathaniel Glover, jr. believed the deceased man who had convictions for sexual assault and weapons possessions was making sexual advances towards him. A nearby witness said that is when Glover stabbed the man in his chest several times. Glover worked as a handyman and part-time security guard in the area. Kidd Creole is also the brother of rapper Melle Mel.

The first generation rapper of hip hop was a part of one of the biggest music groups to date. Paving the way for other artists throughout their impressive career. Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five were immensely popular on the streets of New York City just before the Hip Hop genre took over the mainstream charts. They were known for their deejaying and rhythmic bars but soon proved that rap music could transition over to bigger markets.

Their first single was entitled “Superrappin'” and was released in 1979 shortly after signing to Enjoy Records.

Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five introduced rap to a mainstream audience. The group’s biggest release was a classic called “The Message,” with the famous hook: “Don’t push me ‘cause I’m close to the edge. I’m trying not to lose my head.”

The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007, the first hip-hop group to make the cut.

The man suffered from wounds in both the chest and stomach. Local police have reported that he happens to be a registered sex offender with a total of 17 arrests on his public record with the most recent offense occurring in the month of June of this same year.

The rapper was charged with second degree murder.

The City of New York Councilman Robert E, Cornegy, Jr. and the family of Chris Wallace, otherwise known as Biggie Smalls, dedicated basketball courts in the very same old playground that the iconic rapper from Brooklyn, New York once played around in as a child. His family, friends, and even community leaders all attended the historic event that was held today. The event was located at Cispus Attucks Playground.

Christopher Wallace aka Biggie Smalls was originally born in the city of Brooklyn, New York where he had dreams of becoming a well known rapper of his time. He broke many records in his career as a rap artist signed to Bad Boy Records. To this day he is known as one of the most iconic hip hop artists in history. After releasing his first initial work of songs, he spearheaded the way for East Coast hip hop when West Coast artists were popular and on the rise at that particular time.

After this, he was a prominent figure head in the constant battle between the West and East Coast rising hip hop feud. This exact feud is what eventually led to his death in March of the year 1997. The Notorious B.I.G. was fatally killed in a drive by shooting by an unknown murderer in Los Angeles. Following his tragic death, he has had a total of 4 albums that have all made high ranks on the charts.

He remains to still have an impact on the hip hop industry even in 2017 even after passing away 20 years ago. Several New York and parks officials were in attendance as well.
