New Music Alert: @camjamesraps – “Shoot”

0

Today rapper Cam James releases his new single “Shoot” which is an infectious Summer anthem pushing women to make the first move and shoot their shot.

Rising from dorm rooms to major stages, culminating in selections for some of the largest national music festivals in the late 2010s (A3C ’16, SXSW ’17), Cam James has made great strides in a short period of time.

“It’s a story from beginning to end,” Cam James said. “We’re capturing listeners from the jump and giving them a ride through the song’s super-relatable party scenario.”

With a bouncy, soul-tinged backdrop produced by THAIBEATS and an accompanying self-directed music video inspired by the 2001 Black cinema classic Brown Sugar, this is a track that’ll get stuck in your head for weeks.

Influenced by Nas, OutKast and 90’s R&B and using that as a foundation to build his own sound 2011 at Georgia Tech, he started turning his spoken word pieces into raps. These rough and unpolished sessions became cohesive solo projects over the course of six years and five independent projects.

Following his first TV placement on BET’s Being Mary Jane in September 2017, he announced his independent sophomore album, leviTAPE.

Kendrick Lamar Welcomes First Child

0

Kendrick Lamar and his fiancé, Whitney Alford, have reportedly welcomed their first child on Friday, July 26.

Lamar, 32, and Alford, 33, have been together for quite some time, as they met and began dating while attending Centennial High School in Compton, California. The rapper is notorious for keeping quiet about his personal life, however he opened up about his relationship with Alford back in 2015 in an interview with Billboard, where he confirmed that the two were engaged. At that point, they had been dating for a decade.

“At the end of the day, you want to always, always have real people around you, period. Whether it’s male or female, and everybody that’s been around me, they’ve been around since day one,” Lamar said. “I always show respect when respect has been given, and people that have been by your side, you’re supposed to honor that.”

He continued, “I wouldn’t even call her my girl,” Lamar said. “That’s my best friend. I don’t even like the term that society has put in the world as far as being a companion — she’s somebody I can tell my fears to.”

The two did not previously announce that Alford was pregnant, however they now have a new baby girl, as confirmed by US Weekly.

Fans all over have since been congratulating the pair.

“Congrats to Kendrick and his fiancée on their first child, a baby girl,” one fan wrote, while another stated “Kendrick, our fave, is really a father now.”

Lamar and Alford have yet to publicly speak about their newborn.

Blueface’s Sister Drops Diss Track About Him

0

Blueface’s sister, Kali, has released a new diss track about the rapper entitled Disrespectful (Blueface Diss), following their notorious family drama.

Videos recently surfaced the internet which show Blueface kicking his mother and sister out of his house and onto the streets. The three reportedly had a fight concerning the rapper’s two former girlfriends, as he was kicking his family out so that his girlfriends could move in. Blueface can even be seen in the video physically pushing his sister down the stairs along with his families’ belongings. However, rumors have recently surfaced that the 22-year-old’s two girlfriends robbed and left him.

Blueface even made a reference to the altercation, as he previewed a new song on Instagram, stating “On my momma and my sis, had to kick my own blood out. They must’ve forgot I was a Crip.” He also showed off his brand new face tattoo in the clip.

His sister, Kali, has now dropped a diss track under the name of KALiWAE talking about the altercation. In the song, she talks about how her brother promised he wouldn’t change once he got famous, but did. She states, “Those btches only want you ’cause you Blueface. You switched on mommy ngga I call you two-faced. If you wasn’t fam I’d be squeezing ngga, toothpaste. Ay, this ngga trippin’, tie his shoelace.”

Kali has stated that she is not interested in going back and forth with her brother, and that this will be her only diss track. Blueface has yet to respond.

New Music Alert: @StoneysWorldd – “Blow It”

0

Continuing with a steady stream of releases, Eastern PA rapper/producer $toney delivers his next single, “Blow It.” $toney offers up some boisterous yet sedated verses for this catchy single, highlighted by a cryptic organ for the Scar produced track.

“Its just me elaborating on the sounds I tried to create with BRB but I also wanted to give it some different elements and some faster tempo stuff with some different flavor,” $toney said.

Throwing in some nostalgia while calling out the clout chasers, once again $toney shows up on time for the fans. After working as an engineer for years behind the boards this uniquely charismatic rapper garnered the attention of ElevatorMag this past June with the release of his single, “BRB” which has now surpassed 150k plays on Spotify alone with

“We got a lot of great feedback on BRB and I knew that people were going to love it. That was my first time doing a full rap record and I’m trying to step back into the rap aspect of things. It’s my biggest single yet and its over 150k, so we probably gonna be dropping that video in the next few weeks. The videographer that I have been working with has been doing great work lately. I really hope people like Blow It just as much”

From the fan favorites like “2 Phones” and “Counterfeit,” from his project Blood on My Heart to his newest singles like “Blow It” and “BRB,” you can hear the growth in $toney’s music as he continues to prove that he is far more than just and engineer with real bars as a rapper.

While Blood On My Heart was released in February, produced entirely by McCoy and was dedicated to Jimmy Wopo, fans of $toney can expect a full length project at some point in the next quarter.

“I’m just trying to keep building up for the next six months to a year and build up as high as I can so that when I make moves of any sort I’m a foot ahead,” $toney explained about his plans for the future. “Next we got the BRB video and we are probably going to release a new EP before the end of the Summer, and definitely something else, but those are some of things I have planned before the end of the Summer.”

Blueface Says He Is A Victim Of Police Profiling

0

Rapper Blueface was arrested for felony gun possession back in February, however he is now claiming that the Los Angeles Police Department targeted him because he is black.

The Thotiana rapper was most recently featured in XXL’s freshman class, where he competed in the cypher along with Rico Nasty and YBN Cordae.

He was in downtown L.A. when police got word that there were rappers carrying large amounts of cash and jewelry, according to TMZ. The police claim they were looking out for the rappers, as there were a lot of robberies in the area at the time, and the rappers could be easy targets. When police arrived, Blueface and his crew reportedly tossed their guns and fled. Blueface and two others were later arrested for felony possession of carrying a loaded firearm, however he was released on a $35,000 bail.

Blueface recently stated that LAPD did not come down out of concern for them, but out of racial prejudice according to new legal documents. The 22-year-old also claims that the cops may have a history of writing false reports.

Lawyers for Blueface state that the rapper did not have any guns, and was only singled out because the cops thought he had a nervous look on his face after police heard guns hitting the concrete. The police claim the saw Blueface reach towards his waistband.

The LAPD recently filed legal documents stating that Blueface’s denial of the situation does not give him any right to tap into confidential personnel files.

Trump Criticizes Sweden In A$AP Rocky Case

0

President Donald Trump recently criticized Sweden and its Prime Minister for not helping A$AP Rocky to dodge his assault charge. However, Congressman Andre Carson said it is all a ploy for Trump to get more votes in the 2020 election.

The Fashion Killa rapper was charged with assault on Thursday, July 25 and will remain in a Swedish jail as he awaits next week’s trial.

Trump and the State Department already tried to help Rocky before he was charged, however they did not have any success, according to TMZ. He was also said to be working with Kim Kardashian West in attempt to free the rapper.

After his attempts were unsuccessful, Trump then went on a Twitter rant the same day Rocky was charged, stating “Very disappointed in Prime Minister Stefan Löfven for being unable to act. Sweden has let our African American Community down in the United States. I watched the tapes of A$AP Rocky, and he was being followed and harassed by troublemakers. Treat Americans fairly! #Free Rocky.”

He continued in another tweet, “Give A$AP Rocky his FREEDOM. We do so much for Sweden but it doesn’t seem to work the other way around. Sweden should focus on its real crime problem! #FreeRocky.”

However, Congressman Carson said that Trump is just trying to appeal to the African-American community so that he may gain more votes in the next election, and that Trump doesn’t even believe that his tweets will influence the case.

“I love Kim Kardashian and Kanye and I appreciate what they’re doing on the prison reform and criminal justice reform,” Carson said in a TMZ clip. “I just think the president is using a word called triangulation. He’s making ode to the African-American community, talking about this grave injustice, but at the same time he thinks it’s okay that this to squat and gin up a crowd telling them to ‘Go back home.'”

The two have previously worked together on a handful of tracks such as Diced Pineapples, Ashton Martin Music, Lord Knows, and I’m On One. The two most recently collaborated on their song Money in the Grave on Drake’s The Best in the World Pack.

Man Attacked In A$AP Rocky Case Has A History Of Criminal Assault

0

It appears that one of the men who A$AP Rocky is accused of attacking in Sweden was convicted of criminal assault three years ago.

The man, Mustafa Jafari, can be seen provoking Rocky and his crew in the infamous video before Rocky attacked. The Praise The Lord rapper has since been charged with Assault Causing Actual Bodily Harm and is awaiting trial to see how long he will be held in prison. He is looking at up to two years. Jafari will not be charged with anything in the case, as prosecutors believe he hit Rocky’s bodyguard in the head with a pair of headphones as an act of self-defense.

Back in 2016, when Jafari was just 16-years-old, he was convicted of striking a man in the forehead as well as causing other damage to the victim’s face, according to TMZ. It happened on the streets of Stockholm, which is the exact place Jafari harassed Rocky and his crew earlier this month. He was later sentenced to 30 hours of community service, as well as required to pay his victim about $500 in cash.

Additional charges include Jafari’s two minor drug offenses back in 2017 and 2018, according to TMZ. He was convicted and ordered to pay a fine for both offenses, but did not serve any jail time. It is unclear whether or not the other man who was reportedly stalking Rocky and his crew will be charged with anything in the case.

Prosecutors state that Rocky’s trial will be held within the next two weeks, and that it will likely last three days.
